I used to go all the time in HS and college (borderline addicted) but I haven't gone in years because I have seen the negative affects on my skin plus I have been pregnant most of that time. I will occasionally spray tan if I have an event to go to but on a day to day basis I just use at home self tanner (St.Tropez mousse).

@kjpugs: @.twist.: Also good to help clear up eczema. I have it in my scalp pretty badly and everytime I go to the doctor for it they recommend me to lay in the tanning bed. No thanks. Lol

I used to a lot (even worked at a tanning salon for a short time in high school), but I rarely do now - like I might buy a week pass at the beginning of summer. Honestly the reason I don't isn't health related, it's laziness - I just don't feel like driving there regularly lol. My skin is so much better when I tan though, so I'm just pale and broke out now.

Oh man, the late 90's early 2000's were a total boom for the tanning salon in my home town. It was one block away from our high school so we'd walk over on spare or lunch for a tan. Not anymore though, if I'm craving a sun kissed glow I'll get it sprayed on.

Did anyone ever use the little stickers to get a 'tan tattoo'? I had a playboy bunny logo on my hip. Klassy!

@prettylizy: This made me LOL about your playboy tan tattoo. I am not sure I did this, but I know plenty of people who did I might have had a bathing suit with a cutout on the hip at one point though.

@prettylizy: LOLOL! I never had one, but I know exactly what you're talking about! I was always so jealous of my school friends who had one (my mom wouldn't let me tan)!

@prettylizy: lolz, yes! Those tattoo things were all the rage. I had an outline of a heart in high school!

I did it a couple times before spring break in grad school, and then I did enough sessions to get a base before my wedding (DH went too for that). I would never do it now because of the risk, but I honestly don't regret doing it for the wedding because we both looked better for it.
I really hate how super pale (and easily bruised) my legs are and would probably do almost anything if I could remedy that though! I never feel like I do a good job with self tanner.

@prettylizy: Lol I always used the palm tree when I was in high school/freshman in college!

@.twist.: It's so true; when I would go in the winter, I'd feel so much better! Plus the beds are so warm... I wish tanning wasn't so bad for you!

Nope! I went a few times in college but was burned so badly (on a low setting!) that I couldn't go to work for 2 days because my knees wouldn't bend. After that, (plus, I don't want skin cancer) no way. I've accepted my pale, ghostly epidermis.

Never have, never will. I have a naturally olive complexion, but can get a little pasty in the winter. No matter - I'm usually in long sleeves and pants that time of year, anyhow. Not worth the added risk or expense, to me.

@MsLipGloss: HA! My hipbones haven't been seen by anyone (myself included) in 10 years! lol! I'm sure they're in there somewhere though right?

I love tanning. And i occasionally make my husband go for his psoriasis. He is vety pale though so he doesnt go long and it doesnt do anything. I love it though. I feel healthier with a glow.

I never go but I used to love it. Like 15 minutes on the beach in the dead of winter.
