When you are tucking in your LO(s) at night, do you ever lay with them in bed? After stories are read, not during. The girls have been asking DH and I to lay with them more often, and we usually will for just a few minutes. DH more than me though, because he tends to do longer tuck ins than I do.

After stories I lay with her while we sing bedtime songs, but I typically don't linger past that. She has daddy wrapped around her fingers, so I usually go upstairs and find him fast asleep in her bed after he does bedtime!

No. We actually do bedtime stories in my bed (for some reason DD likes that), then I carry her into her bed and tuck her in and leave.

Yep I lay with her till she's asleep!

@Bao: yep - I still lay with my soon to be 8 yr old - he is starting to separate from me in public (doesn't like to hold my hand) but still asks that I lay with him at bedtime - I will do it as long as he wants
note - he is still awake when I leave - I don't stay till asleep

Not with my babe yet because she's in a crib. I assume I will at some point. I used to read stories to my baby brother and then sing him to sleep while we lay in bed and then is leave.

I lay with DS while we pray, and then sometimes sing a little after. I leave long before he is asleep though.
DD is still in a crib, but I have a feeling she's gonna need a lot more TLC at bedtime than my son has...

Yep, for a little bit. We read, turn out the lights, snuggle into his bed, sing, and then chat a little bit. I don't get much one on one time with him right now, so I don't mind indulging (usually...sometimes I can't because G wakes up crying). D sleeps on the floor in his room probably two nights a week.

Unfortunately. At 18 months he had a couple weeks of separation anxiety so we've been laying next to the crib till he falls asleep, usually 10 min. Sometimes 20.

I don't lay with him but we still rock before bed (he is 4.5 years old). I love the snuggle time, sometimes we sing, sometimes we talk or we just rock quietly. It helps him settle down and fall asleep faster.

@Mrs. Goose: I tell my husband about twice a week that I wish I could crawl into our son's crib and cuddle with him. Until he was 8-9 months old, we used to bring him into bed with us after the first few MOTN wake ups, somewhere bw 1 and 5, to nurse and sleep the rest of the night/morning. It wasn't great sleep for me, since I was hyper alert and tried to implement some safe sleeping habits (I love big comfy duvets up around my neck, etc., which I would sacrifice) but I loved the baby snuggles! I'm looking forward to him getting into a bed for that reason.

I do, until he's asleep, but most nights I end up falling asleep in there as well.

I lie down with him. His bed is pulled up to ours, so he's in his, I'm in mine, and we hold hands until he falls asleep. Lately we've been practicing not holding hands every night. I listen to my Beverly Hills 90210 podcast, so it's actually pretty pleasant for me!

I stay in LO's room for 15 - 30 minutes to keep him company when he is in bed. I'm trying to break the habit and slowly leave sooner and sooner.

We snuggle to sing and pray and sometimes tell silly stories/ideas but not to fall asleep. With the exception of the past two mornings, my DD struggles to relax enough to fall asleep if someone is next to her. I'm the same way.

We do. More often than not DH will doze off and be in there a while. I usually read on my phone or kindle until he is asleep and then I leave. It's a habit I'd like to break but I'm not in a huge rush since I love the way he snuggles up to me when he sleeps
And I know it won't last forever!
