We play with LO when the TV is on...We don't have qualms (yet) with it because she doesn't sit and watch in a dazed trance.

Our youngest LOVES TV. Luckily we don't have one, but from a very early age she was completely mesmerized!

On the weekends or when we're at someone else's house, the TV will usually be on in the background while we play but we don't really watch it yet. DH has let LO watch a few video clips and so have I but nothing longer than a minute or two and not really that often. Honestly, beyond not wanting her to get in that habit, I don't even think to turn the TV on.

DH also tends to let LO watch TV when I don't like her to.... but I'm lucky in that LO doesn't like to watch TV. She watches about two minutes and then walks away So I don't even have to have that conversation with DH yet.
I figure by the time LO's attention span gets longer and she does start watching more TV she'll be a little older and I won't mind so much.
When LO was an infant we didn't have her watch TV. Other then the occasional football game, which I didn't mind.

The TV is on when we are playing sometimes...and she always turns her head towards it and tries to watch! I spin her around if she does it or turn off the TV

The baby is drawn to screens like a little moth to a flame!! He'll wiggle like crazy just to get a glimpse. We purposely make it difficult for him to watch, but he still twists his head around to catch a glimpse. We don't purposefully watch "baby TV," but he gets some accidental screen time when we are watching.

I think at this age, she's more interested in the fact that it's bright, colorful etc.
That said..any time Mickey Mouse appears on the screen, she'll scream, squeal and belly laugh. Not for anything else!!
So yeah, to get some things done if she's SUPER cranky I'll put one episode on. She "interacts" while it's on though, doesn't just sit..she'll jump and bounce, talk to it, laugh, play with a toy etc.

I didn't let DD watch tv as an infant but now she watches videos on the iPad at 2.

@Mrs. Tricycle: Same! Once it had caught her attention I pretty much have to turn it off.

DH has tried to let DD watch the baby channel but I shut him down real quick and turn it off. I don't want her to be watching it so young. I do let DS(4) watch maybe an hour a day.

My 10 month old loooooves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He has to get up and dance when the hot dog song comes on. That said, he really only notices the television if there is singing on. So his attention span for it is pretty short. He's never sat through more than 2 or 3 minutes at a time. He's got way better things to be doing that sitting still, that's for sure.

We never have the television on if LO is awake. She's 14 months and I hope to keep up the lie that our television is broken for as long as possible!

@Mrs. Tricycle: I used that same phrase in another tv thread to describe my LO and tv
Nope. I'm not going to say never but I hope to avoid it until he's much older.

@Mrs. Jacks: you know DS is the exact same way! I can't turn on Pandora over the tv because he'll sit and stare at the covers as the songs chage!

We never sit him down to watch specific shows but it'll be on in the background when DH is home and he'll try to watch it sometimes. Or when DH is hanging out with him while I'm cooking dinner he'll turn on a Friends DVD and E looooooooooves it. We obviously try to refocus his attention
I do let him watch short YouTube videos a couple times a week of Wiggles songs. He's a big fan of doing the monkey

When dh watches her, he puts on a few baby tv shows and kid shows bc he thinks she loves it, which she does! But I don't want to make it a habit
