I don't like doing it but I get desperate. I gave LO half of a Hawaiian roll at Costco while I finished shopping and it kept her occupied and happy!

Yes if she's fussy. Last week we were at Target and I opened a box of granola bars and gave one to her while I shopped.

Yes when I'm just trying to make it through the shopping trip!

Oh that's funny - I have a childhood memory of my parents freaking out when I ate an ice cream bar before we'd gotten up to the register to pay for it. In retrospect I guess it's not a big deal, you still have the UPC code they scan so you pay for it.

Yep! Usually goldfish at Target... the samples at Costco usually keep her busy

I haven't yet but I seriously considered it through a nightmare target trip yesterday. It's only a matter of time!

I try not to since it was a pet peeve of mine when I worked in a grocery store! I just usually let lo hold something and that usually keeps her entertained for a wee while.

Um, I do it myself.....I've bought a box of crackers halfway through my trip. It's not like I"m not gonna pay for them.

I do it myself too! Especially on a hot day or something, I'll take a drink and open it before paying. My husband found it weird but it's like what am I going to do - run out of target without paying for a soda or cookies!

I'm with @blackbird: and @Aimed: I do it all the time. For myself and DD. Of course I'm going to pay for it, so I don't know why it would be a big deal. Today, I was planning to feed DD right after we finished at the grocery store, before we headed to Target. The line was epic, so I just pulled a pouch out of the cart and let her eat it in line. Saved me some time!

I was never allowed to do this as a kid and I don't think I'll ever allow DS to do it either. I just don't feel right about it because the food isn't mine to eat yet.

Nope, I try to feed her before e go into a store or carry snacks with us. I'm paranoid someone will accuse of us stealing with our OWN snacks and will sit right there at the entrance and let her eat it if she's eating it before she comes in, I can't imagine my level of paranoia with something from the store. LOL!
