We've let them roam free and get used to it while we put it together; I plan on keeping them out for the first few weeks while LO gets out of nbness, but plan on letting them in the room.
My dad insists that we need to leave them out (and he adores our furbabies).

Yes, and we are very diligent about making sure we never yell at him while in the room or have him associate the place as a negative one. I want him to love the baby and all things associated with her

No. She's only allowed in the doorway. But there are other rooms in the house that she's only allowed in the doorway as well. I'm sure over time, she'll be allowed in the nursery.

Yes, except our big dog... she sheds too much so she's restricted to the downstairs.

Oh, I clicked no, but I meant yes. My daughter sleeps on a floorbed (12 months) and one of our big dogs often naps with her. If not, they sleep outside the door to make sure she doesn't escape, or something. They really love her.

We don't have a cat anymore but before we never let him in there. Nbg tho cause he had no desire to go in there

Our dog currently lives with my dad in GA but when he was with us he was allowed in the nursery.

Our kitten is obsessed with C. He regularly runs in when I'm putting her down for a nap or something and gets locked in there. lol. He sleeps outside her door at night.

Our pup was always allowed in. Before lo came he thought it was his room. We got her a really soft rug that we'd always find him laying on.

We have one cat who loves the nursery, I always find him just laying on the floor in there even when we and LO aren't in there. I don't let the dog in there because he sheds too much.

Right now, no, because the nursery isn't set up so I have stuff all over that I don't want him to 'investigate.' Once everything is set up and when the baby is here he will be allowed in. He doesn't really shed and doesn't have accidents and we keep him very clean. I would be concerned he'd want to be in the crib but he can't jump that high.

My 6-month-old is allergic to dogs so I put up a gate on his door frame so our dog can't go inside. It's soooo sad, though, b/c our dog loves to hang out with me and she often whines when I'm in there feeding him. She is, however, allowed to go into my oldest son's room but just on his bed. But I am guilty of letting her on there once b/c I wanted the three of us to cuddle.

our nursery is not set up yet, but when it is, we'll allow the dogs to go in there.

Yup, the cat can go in, though she rarely does. I don't see the point of restricting due to shedding, your LO is going to come in contact with fur in every single other room in the house, no? Also, I don't want to create animosity between cat and baby, or create a situation where the animal gets extra curious because it's an "off-limits" area. But mostly, I don't see a point in restricting access.

@Coco Bee: I have a great dane/hound mix, and then just another big mutt. I was pretty careful with her and them, for a long time, since you never know how an animal will react to a child poking it and squealing at it and such. They're so good with her though, it's just precious.

The cat roams wherever he wants, we don't keep him out of LO's room. But he seems to want to steer clear of LO in general because she screams (with joy!) every time she sees him, so he doesn't go in there much. Poor cat!

Interesting! My dog is glued to me so I'm sure she will be allowed in there.
