I don't! I hadn't heard myself in forever and then tonight DH was listening to a voicemail I left him today and I was horrified how high pitched and whiny I sounded!!

No, I also have a high pitched, whiny voice. Lol. People tell me all the time I sound like a teenager. Um, thanks!

hahaha I do and I don't. I have a high pitched voice as well so in loud spaces when I try to talk loudly, I could seriously make someone deaf. I hate that. Also, I have been asked over the phone "can I talk to your mom" DAMMIT. I AM THE MOM. lol.
However, one of my cousins, who I love, said I sound just like her on voice messages, and I love her so that made me really happy... hahaha

I think I sound funny when I listen to myself on video or voicemail, but most people seem to think my voice is "cute." It's sorta high pitched and "country."

Ick...no! I also think I sound high pitched and whiny! I recently heard my voice on a video DH took of DS meeting his great-grandma for the first time and I was talking through the whole thing. DH didn't even warn me that he was recording so I would shut the heck up! Horrible!

I like it when I am singing, but whenever I have to change my answering machine message at work I hang up before I have to hear it played back to me lol.

Hate it! I sound sooo nasally and my tone (?) is about the same as background noise so anytime I speak in a public place, the person i'm with cannot hear me!

Not really, Whenever I hear a recording I always think - is that what I really sound like??

Definitely not! I read this recently about why most people don't like the sound of their own voice and I thought it was really interesting! http://bodyodd.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/04/02/17557410-why-you-hate-the-sound-of-your-own-voice?lite

Secretly I like my voice very much. I have perfected my voice mail voice to sound deeper, more mature. My regular voice is higher pitch and flighty.

@MrsSCB: Ahh, that's what my Husband said the reason was when I was freaking out about my voice yesterday!

@illumina: it kind of made me feel better, like maybe my voice is not actually just horrible, haha. When I was in journalism school we had to do the voiceover for our own projects and it was like torture watching them with the whole class and hearing it, yuck!

No. I try to keep my mouth shut if the video camera is on.
