We met a girl in a doula training class and DH and I both LOVED her name - Rowan.
We are nerds and actually both had the same idea to save it to our baby name lists in our phones in case we ever have a girl. However, I've only heard of boys with this name. Is it too much of a boy name? And also, is it too 'Lord of the Rings'? I've never seen it or read it but I think it might be one of the character's names. Even if it is, I don't think we'd care... I LOVE that name!

It's beautiful and @birdofafeather's daughter's name! I think Brooke Shields daughter has that name too? I've never heard it used elsewhere, so I would assume it's a girl if I heard that name.

If I ever have a daughter that will be her name! So I love it. My DH and I found it about a year ago and both liked it. It's very rare that we agree on a name.

I knew a guy named Rohan. But in my experience when spelled Rowan I've only known girls with that name.

That name was on our list! In LOTR it's Rohan, a kingdom. I liked it for a boys name, but DH vetoed. We ended up having a girl, but I think it's even cuter as a girl's name.

I am not sure but I think they pronounce it differently in Lotr -- Rohan -- they pronounce the h pretty strongly if u remember correctly! Also as a pp said, in the book/movie it is just the name of a country there. Cute name!!
