I met someone recently with that name and thought it sounded very nice.

Yep, I know a toddler named Lyle and he has the greatest spunky and clever personality.
It is a unique name that is very grandpa-ish, but with the similarity to Kyle, I think it is refreshing.

My first thought was Lovett as well. I do know a Lyra, and a Lyric (both girls).

I'm not a big fan of Lyle but that's because I've only met older grandpa types with the name. My first thought was also that it rhymes with the word "vile" which I know is a childish association but it was the first one I made!

I had a neighbor Lyle growing up, so I think of him. I do like the name!

I don't, but that's a weird nickname I use for DD sometimes, so it's weird to think of it as an actual name... haha

@mrs. bird: Ha, agreed on all counts. I sat next to him at a baseball game once in high school, and his girlfriend was seriously about my age. He was nice enough, but I've been a little icked out by him since.

I said meh-- I like it for a certain personality. I know a toddler Lyle and it suits him (well, his parents, really!) but it's not a name I would use myself.

my cousin's son's name is Lyle, and I love my cousin and I love her son so I like the name!
