I cannot wait to have a little niece or nephew because 1) I love babies and 2) It means I'll get to throw either my sister or SIL a shower! Hopefully both some day. I love planning themed parties and doing DIY. Especially for my sister and SIL because they always through great showers for me and they did an awesome bachelorette party for me. Can't wait to return the favor!

@Rubies: Have you thrown a lot of showers? I've only helped with a couple. But I told my husband today that I can't wait to throw a shower for my SIL or sister when they get pregnant and he said, "what if they have someone else throw it." To which I responded, "they won't, I'm doing it!" I'm not giving them a choice, I want to do it for them!

@artbee: I've been the sole hostess of just one baby shower for which I did all the planning, food prep, cake, games, invites, etc. I've co-hosted a slew of bridal showers - I can't wait to throw another shower!

Our church has a fairly small congregation, and my family throws a church shower for each new baby. We get a few a year, and I have a lot of fun coming up with new themes and games to make each preggie feel special. I love showers!

I used to, then my sister, SIL, BFF and I all got married and most all had babies in the last 3 years. I'm a little showered out! lol! Luckily my sister isn't planning on starting her family for a few more years so we'll have a break to get re-energized on the shower bandwagon.

I LOVE throwing parties! Especially showers! Anything cute with lots of personalized DIY details... I love love love.
The very first shower I threw was a bridal shower for my then future SIL. I didn't know anyone and they were all friends and older than me. Her other bridesmaids took care of food and decorations, and I did the games. I bought a bunch of toy rings and hid them all around the house, and whoever was wearing the most rings by the end of the shower won a prize. For the prizes I bought little teddy bears and dressed them up with veils, bouquets, and pearl necklaces/earrings/rings. I thought the girls would think it was lame, but you should have seen them all racing around the house in their pretty outfits, knocking each other over to get to the rings!
Then I bought hundreds of pink beads, all shades and shapes and sizes, and the stretchy clear thread and dumped them all out onto a table and let people make their own bracelets. Again, I thought they would think this was lame, but after they made their bracelets, they started making anklets, rings, and even things to attach to their cell phones. Girls stayed until dinnertime, like 3 hours after the shower was over, just making jewelry! And my SIL wore the anklet she made on her wedding day
Ever since that day I have been ADDICTED to throwing parties.

I've never thrown a shower for anyone! I haven't thrown a party in FOREVER. LO's 1st is stressing me out just a little bit.

i've thrown it once for my SIL and bro. and honestly, i wouldn't want to do it again. too stressful! and i'm just not creative enough. took me forever to research.

Yes, I can get pretty into showers. It is a lot of fun, downside is how $$ they can be to throw. I threw 3 last year. It was a ton of fun with each being so different with different themes and all.

I love to plan parties and throw showers! In the past year, I've helped throw my two cousins and my sister a baby shower, along with helping plan my own. Not to mention helping with all their wedding showers and my best friends shower too! I can't get enough.

@Rescuemom10: I agree, the money part does suck. I try to DIY as much as I can with things I have around the house. Luckily if it's a shower for family my mom will always help with the cost.
