I totally do. I feel bad saying that.
But mama needs her wine and TV!

OMG yes. I'm a SAHM and I'm usually alone w/her all day.
I'm especially counting down today.

@pinkcupcake: I'm a WOHM and look forward to it. I'm sure I'd be REALLY looking forward to it if I was a SAHM.
nectarine / 2132 posts
hells yes. today i even told him "mommy is looking forward to bedtime!" but he's only 13 months so he doesn't understand.
pomelo / 5093 posts
Sure. I work my ass off all day taking care of her - I need a break at the end of it. I often miss her when she sleeps but not the work involved in caring for her.
coconut / 8299 posts
SAHMs definitely need a well-deserved break from LO. But as a WOHM, I feel guilty about it! I'm so tired after a long day's work, I just want to relax!
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
I would except its so hard getting her to sleep and I never know how it's going to go so instead I dread it. I do look forward to her being asleep but lately I still can't relax bc she's been waking up over and over again.
pomegranate / 3768 posts
Yes! Nursing her now and hoping she will go to sleep fast tonight! I need to catch up on the Voice on my dvr!
cantaloupe / 6687 posts
Always!
@sarac: I look forward to bedtime so much but miss her later as I'm heading off to bed. I often kiss the monitor or I'll go peek and look at her sleeping

@banana: I feel guilty too
Today was a long day at work, I'm still recovering from my wisdom teeth removal surgery and on a liquid diet, DS didn't want to eat anything I offered him for dinner (second night in a row), he was really crabby and fussy about everything else, too. I was counting down until bedtime tonight.

About half the time. When he's in a great mood, I want him to stay up and play. But when he's in a "mood"...

Ummmmm...yes.
But then I miss them, worry, and check on them before I go to bed!

I look forward to it so much. I don't feel bad because it's hard taking care of a toddler all day. I get work done and can finally relax. Feel like it's much deserved down time.

By the end of the day, yes, I'm ready. Then he goes to bed, I get a little break, and I miss him
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
Yes, especially lately with this crappy napping. 6 or 7 hrs and I'm ready to veg out to bad tv with an adult beverage of some sort. I don't even feel badly about it, either. But I'm a SAHM and am with him all day. If I WOH I'd probably be less eager to put him to bed.
GOLD / cantaloupe / 6703 posts
Yup! These last few weeks I've been out of work, so except for 8-12 hours a week when I send her to daycare for my sanity and so that I can go to job interviews, she's all mine. DH doesn't necessarily understand how draining she can be.
pomegranate / 3863 posts
Yes, and I WOH and feel so guilty about looking forward to bedtime. And then about 30 min after having some quiet time to myself I end up missing him. Go figure!!
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
I actually sometimes dread bedtime because I have no idea if it's going to be an easy or hard night. Ie tonight started at 7:20 it's now 8:30 and we're still working on it. Sigh.
But last night she wanted to sleep at 6:40 and was dead asleep in 15!

@locavore_mama: I completely agree. Some nights DS is having a great time playing with me, I hand him over to DW for milk and then when we put him down, he's out like trout.
Other nights, it's like Wagner's Ring Cycle trying to get him to bed: it takes hours, there's a lot of crying, and everyone ends up tired all over.
pomelo / 5093 posts
I often think that I wish she would wake up for ten minutes, snuggle, and then immediately go back to sleep.
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
Yup, SAHM so I get lots of time with these kiddies. Go to bed .... lol!
nectarine / 2886 posts
Yes! But then when Im kissing her goodnight I get sad that I won't get to see her until the next morning.
pomegranate / 3895 posts
Yes, and also naps. I'm sorry if that makes me a terrible mother, but mama can only sing Wheels on the Bus a finite number of times before losing my sanity!
papaya / 10473 posts
No. It stresses me out because it starts the cycle of around 10 wake ups a night.

This thread makes me feel better... I'm not alone! Love getting her in the morning but very ready to send her off to dreamland every night
pomegranate / 3383 posts
Yes!!! I'm exhausted from a long day at work and bedtime is actually one of the sweetest times of the day for us. My LO is crazy about his routines and I love going through our bedtime rituals together.

Sometimes when I am really tired, I just want to be able to sit and not have to worry about what she is about to get into . . . but I miss her at night, as corny as that sounds. My heart aches a little every time I see her on the monitor.
grapefruit / 4085 posts
Haha yes as a SAHM sometimes by the end of the day she is just one big crank! So then I'm ready for her to go to bed - which my husband usually handles. But then I do miss her during the night and check on her a few times.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
Yep! But at the same time I hate it cause we get an hour together in the evenings. I want so badly to go pick her up and hold her while she sleeps.
cherry / 159 posts
@Foodnerd81: same here. I would love to say I look forward to her going to sleep but it just doesn't make a difference as I know she will be waking up soon anyway. There has been a couple of nights when I have just literally stayed up in the middle of the night and waited for her to wake up as I knew it would be within an hour.
coconut / 8299 posts
@Smurfette: LOL! Sometimes after my daughter goes to bed, I joke with my husband that we should wake her up because I want to hold her!! He always gets annoyed when I say that. haha
