I used to not like getting flat Christmas cards because they didn't stand up on their own. Now I have created a way to hang them so we can still display them. I still prefer to send folding cards.

mostly all of our cards are flat! We usually hang on our fridge door or string them along our mantle or pantry!

I've only ever sent flat cards! And, I think of the 15 or so card we got last year only 2 were folded cards. I always tape ours around our kitchen doorway, so it's actually easier to display the flat cards. I love them all though!

i only get flat ones. They're cheaper and I do not write personalized notes in every one anyway.

I prefer flat - easier to hang! We tape around the doorway.

I'm sending folding cards this year and just received them, but in previous years I always did flat cards. I like that folding cards can stand on its own on a mantel, but I think flat cards have more versatility - you can attach it to a fridge, create a wall of cards with just some tape, stick it on cork boards, put it in a scrapbook when you're done... so I may go back to flat cards next year!

I usually like the designs I see on flat cards better anyway, but I don't have a preference on what I receive.

I don't have a preference. In my old apartment, I hung them on a door with slats, so I would slide the folded ones over the slats or tape up the flat ones.
Now I'll probably tape them all to the door in our dining room.

I put them on the fridge, which is actually easier with flat cards. We always send flat ones and with the ones we receive I'd say it's 50/50.

I like flat. I think last year we got 1 regular (not flat not photo) card.

I don't care. We always tape them up somewhere so you only see the front anyway.

I like the flat ones! I don't have a good place to keep them though - I just stick them in a basket. I need to get crafty and make something to display cards!

I'm planning to do this: (we mostly only get and send flat cards). But last year I taped them to hang from our stove hood.

I don't really care. I tape them to the wall.
@Mrs Green Grass: Oh, I like that, a lot!
I've seen other christmas card hanging ideas, like these...

I prefer flat cards and find them easier to display as a few PPs mentioned.

flat cards here too!`I don't mind folded, but like to save the money on my own, and like flat for display. I usually hang them on a ribbon and end up taping the folded cards shut so they hang right.

I prefer flat cards, easier to display on the fridge! although these wall ideas have me thinking

I prefer flat cards, too. I have a snowflake photo holder that sits on my mantle, and family Christmas cards go in that. I also have a garland of tiny knitted stockings and mittens, with little clothespins in between, and that gets hung up and is where the rest of the cards are displayed. I don't have the horizontal space to display the number of cards we get each year, so being able to hang them is the only way we can enjoy them. And in that case, flat is easier!

I tape them to our coat closet doors, so flat or folded works. I usually send flat cards.

I run wide ribbon down the outside of our china cabinet doors and use clothespins to attach the cards to the ribbon, so it doesn't matter whether they're flat or folded.

We send flat cards and mostly recieve flat cards. We tape them around our doorway.

@Mrs Green Grass: oh that is lovely! I would love to do this but we don't get that many cards to pull this off nicely. Maybe I could do one on a smaller scale? Thanks for sharing!

I love the different variety of Christmas cards, it doesn't matter at all.
