I was just going over our tax information, and always get depressed because DH makes way more than me. We both went to university for four years (different programs) and both got good grades.
I did the math.. this year he made 3.8 times what I did! Ugh!!
Any one else have a situation where one of you makes a lot more than the other? Do you wish it was more equal?

Right now if you add in all his benefits he makes slightly more than I do (but off of base pay I make more). However, this fall I SHOULD be getting a good raise. If I do then I will be making more than him by just a little.

We make amost exactly the same amount to the penny, but my base salary is way higher and he gets a big bonus. I prefer having the higher base salary but it's nice to get some cash at the end of the year, although you can't count on a bonus.

We used to be neck and neck but with Wagon Sr.'s recent promotion he got a boost over me! I think I'm at the ceiling of where I wanna be (I don't really want to move above my current job function because it would add a lot of hours and stress) so from here on out I expect he'll be the bigger breadwinner. I don't mind!!!

I make 2x what my husband makes...but I also have all the student loan debt which evens things out (DH never went to college).

Right now he makes double what I make. But hopefully that will change soon once I pass the bar and get a better job

My husband makes 4x what I make and with last year's bonus it was actually 5x what I make. (For what it's worth, he's an engineer at a huge company and I graduated with a degree in English, but do graphic design at a governmental non-profit). I don't mind it because it means we currently live entirely off of my husband's income and mine is just for fun things. It also means the transition to SAHM will be really easy someday.

My actual salary is roughly 2x more than my husband's. But, my salary is now reduced to 75% since I work part time. I still make 25% more than my husband though. When he's done with his surgery residency in another year and a half, he'll make way more than me though.

DH and I made exactly the same, down to the penny up until last week. We both got a raise, but his was more than mine so now he makes about $200 more a month than I do. Not much, so we're still pretty close!

In England we earned around the same but in Canada his earnings kick my ass, lol. Physiotherapy is private here as opposed to the UK's NHS system, so pay is much more lucrative, whereas journalism is pretty screwed all over, it seems : )

My husband makes more than twice what I do but then add in all of the other money that he rakes in from consulting and side projects, its probably closer to 3-4x. Does it bother me? Nope, but he also doesn't make me feel bad about it. He works hard to support his family. I think it's pretty great, actually. With that said, of course I would like to make more money and I even potentially could but that would mean sacrifices in other aspects of our life which we don't really need to make. I'm quite content having my husband be the breadwinner. We're a team so it doesn't really matter where the money is coming from.

I didn't vote because although I don't work right now, I once did and at some point later, will go back to work.
DH makes and will always make a good 3x what I'll ever make:) it totally doesn't bother me. I'm glad because he always say "you can quit, I've got this" because my job is more like extra income for us so I will never feel that pressure to work. I do want to work for my own sanity though;)

I have two jobs. For one of those jobs, it takes DH two months to earn what I earn in a year! And the pay on the other job is inconsistent/freelancey.
I don't care. DH mostly works for the money, I mostly work because it's my passion (albeit poorly paid atm).

Yeah, DH makes almost twice what I do, and it sucks. I went to college and am working on my Master's, and still haven't broke 30K. It's a bit of a sore subject with me. I'm so proud of him for making good money, and he is 5 years older than I am, so he had a head start, but I really wished I could contribute more to our income

I make about 2-3x what my DH makes.
DH went to an art school so he always knew that there wasn't a lot of money in it and he has some health issues now. So instead of working at some random job (that he hated), he now has time to concentrate on his illustrations and photography.
It doesn't bother me. He could be a SAHD when the time comes. He suggested it not me. Works for me!
He doesn't like it sometimes. He sometimes feels guilty that he does not significantly financially supporting us. He also has some traditional views that a man supports the wife. I think he gets it but still feels weird when others ask him what he does and what I do.
Maybe in the future, he will start a business and if its successful, I can come work for him.

I only work part time in a commission-based field, while he's in a salaried career... so, yes, he definitely makes a lot more than me! I'm okay with it though. He likes being the provider, and I'm looking forward to all the time I'll have with our LO.

I do pretty decent in med device sales, but DH makes 2.5 times my salary. It does not depress me- I am super proud of how hard he works and it means that once we move into our new house this summer, I'll get to stay home for a while!

DH makes at least 2x what I do - more once bonus is included (which varies). We both went to law school but he got his LLM and we're in completely different areas of law (consulting vs. litigation). We have similar amounts of debt and often work the same number of hours. I don't mind the difference but sometimes it's frustrating.

DH has made approximately $200 total in the 4.5 years since I've known him, haha. He's in med school now though, so theoretically he'll way out-earn me in... 5 years. Ugh.

I make twice what DH makes. He basically makes enough to cover his child support, his cell phone bill, his car payment, and our insurance policies on the cars, plus some spending money. I cover the mortgage, the household bills, my personal spending, our medical insurance, 401k, and my car payment.
I think we both hate that we're so uneven. He feels like he's not contributing, and there's a lot of stress on me to make sure that we have a place to live. He's also just not good financially...he doesn't plan well for the future, he's very in the now. I'm forcing him to put some of his paycheck into a bank account so we have something to draw from for the hospital bill (unknown, since our medical policy renews in June and I'm due in August) and when I'm out on maternity leave and not getting a full paycheck. He struggles with having money there that can't be considered usable right now.

DH makes 2x what I do. I am totally fine with that, as with a larger income comes far more responsibility and far higher expectations in terms of hours he has to put in.

I'm really proud of DH and it's awesome that he has such a good career, however I wish mine was better! But it will be easier to transition to a SAHM when we get to that point!

Dh makes way more than me. He works in finance, I... do not. Sure I wish I made a little more but it makes the decision to be a SAHM much easier. He works really hard and earns his money, and I know he is feeling the pressure to provide for our family especially when I stop working.

Now we make almost the exact same salary, but prior to our marriage when I was living the "big city" life, I made almost 3 times what he made. I don't think it was much of an issue since we are in the same occupation, and it was just a function of what jobs we were in right then.
