I learned some Japanese in college and Mrs. Bee speaks Korean... plus a little Spanish too.
Do you (or your SO) speak any foreign languages?

I wish! I dated someone who knew French and he said he would teach me. haha.
But DH and I know nothing. I do know a little ASL but that's not foreign.

My husband speaks 4 languages, his mother tounge is considered a dialect, so he counts German as his first language. Then he learned French, Italian and English.
I speak Italian and German. I studied French and Spanish, but I don't consider myself at all fluent.

I speak Fujianese & Cantonese very fluently. OK in Mandarin and lost most of my Spanish!

DH and I speak Spanish at home. We met when I lived in South America, so it is the language we got to know each other in, and DH's English is still not quite there. So Spanish it is.
I understand Portuguese reasonably well, but I can't speak it at all. I always joke that it sounds like drunk people speaking Spanish

I can speak passable French, and have reading knowledge of Latin. None for DH!

At this point in time, its just English for me. But I had a Mexican nanny growing up, so I used to be fluent in Spanish.
DH speaks Portuguese. He used to be fluent in German too, but has lost a lot of it. I've been trying to learn Portuguese, but it hasn't gone so well

I've been brushing up on French with the hopes of becoming fluent. I've been studying everyday and it's going well so far.

Korean and bad French.
Cantonese, Spanish and worse French.
@Leialou: What are you using to brush up on your French? That was actually one of my goals this year.

No. I really wish I had stuck with Spanish classes though, it would be really beneficial to me. Same with DH, I'm sure he'd love to be able to speak Spanish.

Spanish was my first language. I know some words in Japanese. DH doesn't know any other languages but can handle some spanish.
I can read some French and Italian, too. VERY little haha.

We're Canadian so it's not really foreign but we both speak enough French to get by. DH can also speak a little Spanish.

My DH is Peruvian and Spanish is his first language, although we speak mostly English at home. I speak enough Spanish to get by with his family, but I don't consider myself fluent.
But my husband's aunt watches our baby while I'm working and talking to her is rapidly improving my Spanish!

DH speaks Swedish and studied German in school. I speak Tagalog and some Swedish and can sound out written Korean (amd not understand what I'm reading) although I know some phrases and understand a little. I studied Spanish in school but lost most of it. We speak English at home, but he speaks Swedish to DD.

@Freckles: Rocket Languages. It was $89 and I like it so far. I'm also planning on buying a few of my favorite books in French and watch some movies in French too. I'm hoping to eventually find someone to write/email in French for some more practice.

I speak French, DH is conversational in French but not fluent by any means.

My husband can speak basic conversational Spanish. I took Spanish four years in high school, but lost most of it by now.
I studied in Greece and could communicate decently in modern Greek, but I'm really rusty know.
I was fascinated with languages when I was little and learned lots of songs in different languages. I can sing songs in Russian, Spanish, Mandarin, Greek, French, and German.
I'm taking ASL classes this summer. Not sure if that "counts".

My husband is fluent in Spanish (his mom is from Mexico). I know a little Spanish but not enough to carry on a conversation.

I can speak conversational French (and that is probably being generous, I read French a lot better than I speak it). DH does not speak any other languages.

DH speaks fluent Albanian, basic German, and basic Spanish.
I speak fluent Albanian, basic German, and basic Romani (used to speak it well but I've lost a lot).

My DH speaks French from years of taking it. But mostly now he's lost a lot of the speaking, and just understands it well. He is a chef and works in a kitchen, where there are lots of french terms, so that has helped reignite it. Plus, he's been learning Spanish. (A class, rosetta stone, and having his coworkers teach him.) A few people he works with are I believe Cajun- they speak french but aren't French- maybe Haitian? - anyway he helps communicate with them too. I think it's so cool he has the tools to better communicate with them. He really cares about it and I know they respect him for that.

I used to speak Spanish fluently but after years of not speaking it much I'd need a lot of practice. I can still read and understand it decently though. I understand French pretty well but don't have the confidence in speaking it much yet.
DH's first language is French, he speaks Spanish pretty well, he lived in Italy in elementary school and was fluent for awhile when they returned but he can't even understand it now. He's a really good mimic so he has bits and pieces of other languages and he can trick people momentarily because he's spot on with different accents.
