I was so surprised when we moved here that no one parks in their garage - everyone uses it for storage.
I love parking in the garage - especially in the rain and snow - hello, no wiping snow off your car in the winter.
What do you do? What do your neighbors do?

Yep, one of our cars during the summer. both cars during the winter. DH cleans up all his tools and such during the snowy seasons to make room for both!

I wish. 
DH runs his company out of our house. So all his "in season" equipment is stored in the garage and the "off season" equipment is in the shed. They alternate seasons, so it's always full of work equipment!
My parents ALWAYS parked in the garage. So, not being able to kind of sucks! haha

Always. I had the same reaction growing up, we always parked in our garage and I was shocked to learn some of my friends' parents just used theirs for storage.

Nope, we use it for storage. My car is too tall for my garage anyway (50 year old house) so it would only be DH that could park in there. Most of my neighbors don't park in theirs, either.

Yeah, we have a 1 car garage so mine goes in and DH's stays out. A lot of people in my area use garage as storage too, some even convert it into an actual room.

DH parks his motorcycle in the garage. I can park my car in there, but my door opener is broken so I don't.

We absolutely do. Right now we haven't been because we are waiting for new garage doors, but we definitely will be before the weather changes and it's snowy outside.

Yep! It's so hot here. Parking in the garage makes a huge difference vs getting into a car that's been sitting in the sun.

Not always. I have a snow rule that in the winter he needs to clean out enough junk for me to park in there before winter hits. In the summer I don't really care

Nope. My minivan doesn't really fit in there and there's no room for unloading my husband's wheelchair. I back up to the garage door so he won't get too wet if it's raining. No one else in the neighborhood does either. All the houses must have small garages.

Never. We have a 1 (. 5) car garage and DH never parks in there. Even in the dead of winter and we get rough winters....

I almost always park in the garage. DH chooses to park in the driveway, even though both our cars could fit.
I think most of our immediate neighbors use theirs for storage, but others in our neighborhood park in their garages.

We have a car in our garage but it's an old car DH is fixing up. Otherwise we use it for storage.
Most houses in our neighborhood don't have basements and a lot of people use their garage for storage and park in the driveway.

Yes, we do. We have a 3-car garage with a huge empty attic above, so we park the cars in the 1st two bays, and we use the 3rd bay plus the attic for storage. The big garage was a huge selling point when we bought the house.

Yes, everyone in my neighborhood parks in their garage. I do too. We have a 2.5 car garage, so we use ours for storage too!

Yup, always in the garage. At our last house we had a 1 car garage and had to tandem park with the garage and the driveway. It was in a condo association so we weren't allowed to park anywhere else. Now we have a bigger house with a 3 car garage and it is AWESOME. We can both park, it's not tandem, and we still have the 3rd bay for storage.
But even if we didn't have it, I still wouldn't want the garage for storage. Around here our weather hits both ends of the spectrum - hot summers and cold snowy winters. There's no way I'd leave my car out in the snow and have to clean it off if I didn't have to.

Nope, house was built in 1928, so the garage is WAY too small to put a car in. It was great for my motorcycle, though!

Yup, but one spot is taken up by my DH's bachelor car that won't start and he won't part with. So we park one in, and one out.

One side is for storage and the other side I park in. DH parks in the driveway because he has a big truck. Garages are awesome lol I grew up in a city and no one had garages so now that we have one I don't think I could ever go back! I prob wouldn't care about having one if I lived somewhere that didn't get a lot of snow tho..

We park both cars in 90% of the year. Other times DH parks his outside if there's something we need to keep in the garage for some reason (for instance when we got a new dishwasher and were waiting for the old to sell).

We live in LA, so weather isn't usually an issue. Our garage is detached and in the backyard. There is a driveway, but a fence blocks it. If we were to park in the garage, we would have to get out, open the fence, deal with our two dogs, drive in, and close the fence. It just isn't practical. If we ever move, I want an attached garage, just for convenience and to keep our cars cleaner.

We do but only b/c we are fortunate to have a shed in the back that is the size of a one car garage. I was just talking with DH about this yesterday as I totally understand why people can't park in their garage.with all of the stuff we have to store.
In our neighborhood, there's a good mix of people not being able to park in the garage. But for some, it's b/c they have such a big family that they have 11-15 people passenger vans. So yeah. those won't fit.

Yep, always! But we have a big basement we can use for storage. The only stuff we keep in the garage are stuff like our lawnmower and snowblower, trash and recycling bins, and some tools! I would HATE having to get up earlier in the winter to clean snow off my car!

Yes! I find it so strange that no one in our neighborhood parks in their garage, to the point that if there are no cars in the driveway they think you're not home. They'll leave expensive cars out to bake in the sun, even with huge basements and sheds.

I have a garage and I don't park in the garage because we'd have to play musical cars in the morning. I get home before my husband but I leave before him. If I parked in the garage, he would most likely park in the driveway which means we'd be doing the car shuffle everyday. If I park in the driveway, he parks on the street. I only park in the garage when I know it's going to snow. And he parks in the driveway because it helps keep the majority of the snow off the driveway because his car is there!

Yes! But only one car. We use the other half (or, the side walls) for storing our outdoor equipment and yard tools.
Our neighbors also don't park in their garages.

Ummm yeah....what's the point in a garage otherwise, lol? All our tools and lawnmowing stuff, etc still fits in the garage
