DH and I were looking into joining a gym (LA Fitness to be exact...) but you pay either $5.00 per visit or $10+ (not sure the exact amount) monthly for the kids club. I always thought that was included in the monthly fee but I never really thought about it.

At our gym it costs $9 per visit (up to 2 hours) or you can pay something like $75 a month and get unlimited visits.

it is free at mr. bee's gym, but that is standard at all the gyms in our neighborhood since there are so many kids here.

We belong to the YMCA, and their Child Watch center is free (which is awesome). I use it almost daily now. There is a 90 minute limit.

my previous gym charged for the childcare. I can't remember how much it was, but I know it was like $3 or something like that when I took DS for 1 hour when he was 6 months old....

I don't belong to a gym right now but I looked at the one near me. It would be $8 an hour for child care on top of the regular monthly fee- which is part of the reason I opted not to join yet.

@petunia354: It is just for childcare. We don't particularly like the daycare there so we have only used it a couple of times. But if we did like it, it would actually be a bargain - then we would go to the gym much more often, and that would be cheaper than a babysitter!

We also belong to the Y, and it's free, up to 1hr for infants and 2hrs for age 1+.

I am a member of Lifetime Fitness but have not signed up DD yet. Adding a child on the account is $20 monthly which includes 2 hours of childcare per day to drop off when you work out. Family swim time for both the indoor and outdoor is included.

Our Y has paid childcare where I buy 10 visits (up to 2 hours) for $35. My barre studio has a 10 pack of childcare for $45. I try to only use it when DH is gone all day and can't watch her while I work out.

We don't! We belong to a LA Fitness as well. DH goes to the gym in the early AM and I go after DS is down for the night. We figured it's not worth it for us for the hand full of times we may use it during the year!

At the YMCA it is included, and we get up to two hours per day. Since Wednesday is my day off and I don't have class until afternoon, J and I go every Wednesday to the Y - I work out for an hour and then I pick him up and we play in the pool for another hour.
I'm so glad it's included! It makes it so much easier to work out.

I think it is $10 per visit? I already pay $150/month for the membership so it kinda sucks to pay them any more money. I haven't used it yet.
