I usually pick up toys in the great room. I don't always make it to the basement play area tho where most of his big toys are!

Yes! I can't stand mess! I clean up every time LO goes down for a nap too. I just like order in my house....and my toddler likes disorder

Dog toys ugh I'm not looking forward to dog toy and kid toy intermingling.

Yup. Usually at nap time too. In the past few days M has gotten into helping us "tee up" her toys. Score!

@MrsH: lol! With all the babies toys L has, you'd think he would even noticed them, but if they are laying in the great room, he makes a b-line for them every time.
Yep, clean up after bedtime!
honeydew / 7586 posts
Yes! Otherwise, it's like walking a minefield trying to navigate from the living room to the kitchen.

Nope but she doesn't get in that many since we don't have that much time together in the evening. Lately we just play outside. I had to clean tonight, cleaners coming in the am!

nope! omg I haven't cleaned a toy in forever. haha. I do if we have play dates at home, but haven't had one of those in a while!

Most of the time, unless we're just exhausted and wanting to veg out.

Sometimes, if I don't, I just shut the door... Out of sight, out of mind right?

Yes - we play in her room and the living room and leaving the mess makes me a little loco

Only when it's just a few misplaced items. If it's a big mess, I make them clean them clean.

Yup, drives me crazy to go to bed with toys all over the house. DH even more so. So either him or I will or we make LO clean up with us lately if she made a huge mess.
nectarine / 2994 posts
I do since the toys are in the living room, I dislike walking in there in the morning and seeing yesterdays mess.
GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts
Yes, but she only has an hour a day to make a mess so it is usually really manageable.
nectarine / 2217 posts
yep, but it only takes 10 min max because I don't let him have many toys mwahahahah!
and most of them go into bins, so it's easy to clean up.... just gather and toss!

Yup! It drives me crazy to go to bed with a mess downstairs. I usually clean up the family room and LO's play room while DH puts LO to bed.

@tysonja: yes, i pick up toys every night. but we have a small apartment and don't have too many toys, so it's fairly easy to go around and throw things into the toy bins.

Yes, I sing a song and it's part of our nighttime routine!
That way I don't kill myself on anything when I go into her room at night, and I can relax in the living room without the stress of a big mess around me.
honeydew / 7811 posts
Absolutely! At night and during naps! We have a small apartment and most of the toys are in our living room so keeping things picked up is a must.

The only time we pick up fully is the night before out cleaning lady comes. The clutter doesn't bother me
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
No, never. I just make sure they're not in my path for the morning, but that's it, haha. I only pick up when I'm going to vacuum or we have company over!
