I definitely plan on volunteering with Charlie and Olive when they're a little bit older. Maybe helping serve food in a soup kitchen on Thanksgiving, helping out at an animal shelter, participating in a community garden... I really want them to understand how lucky they are, and how good it feels to help others.

Yep! I was talking about this with my friend recently b/c we feel that our kids have it so good compared to when we were kids. I used to volunteer all the time growing up and my mom was/is on the board of many non-profit organizations as well so I would love to involve my kids as they grow up as well. As for what type, not sure yet. It'll have to depend on what's available in our county and at what age as well.

I definitely want to. I want them to know that there are others who are less fortunate than them. I also want them to have a giving spirit.

We were just talking about this, we for sure want to as they get a bit older. Currently I'm trying to cook whenever people from the church need food, so I chat about it with TG as she helps in the kitchen.

most definitely. i want to volunteer with homeless, at church, with other kids, etc. to show them that we're called to serve others and show love that way.

Yup! We volunteer now, and it's important to me that we instill that sense of community and that value in LO.

100% yes. I'd like to wait and see where their interests lie and sort of let them lead. I think it's important to introduce them to volunteerism in a way that they will enjoy it and have positive associations.

Yes! We definitely want to when N is a little older. We want to build in her a bigger perspective outside the world she lives in.

Yes because I enjoyed volunteering when I had the opportunities to. I want to expose them to that also.

As aid workers it is a lifestyle/career for us, but we want to make sure that our kids are involved personally.
We will definitely will support them in coming up with their own ideas and projects to help others, and then we'll let them lead and help them accomplish it.
I want them to learn to take initiative when it comes to volunteering.

Yes, volunteer work is very important in our religion. I'm not sure what we'll we do. My parents had us involved in a lot of service projects (everything from senior visits to community projects to childcare) so we'll have to what strikes their interest.
