I've only bought one e-book since I got my Kindle about 5 months ago. I usually try and borrow them from the library instead, but the selection isn't that great.
Do you buy a lot of e-books or do you mostly borrow them?

Almost entirely borrow. I'm too cheap to buy a lot of e-books. I have an easier time buying regular books because I just have trouble valuing something so intangible. I get most of my books form the library e-lending system. And I think I've bought maybe 2 books for a grand total of less than $10.

Nope never. It bugs me that you're buying a license and not the actual book. Hence why you can't ever resell your ebooks.
We just use the library instead!

I almost always borrow mine. If I'm going to spend the money on buying a book I want to have the hard copy so I can give it to someone else after I read it.

Since I live in a country where I don't speak the local language, I do buy ebooks just because it is expensive/a pain in the rear to go into a shop. Also, we move a lot, and, as much as I love books, they are no fun to pack and cart around.

I get gift cards to use on my nook for pretty much all gift giving holidays, so I use those to buy ebooks. I wouldn't say I've spent all that much of my own money on them.

I buy all my ebooks because I never figured out the library thing. My husband and I share a Nook account and we've purchased 274 books. That seems like a lot of $ spent on books, but I guess we're given a lot of Barnes & Noble gift cards so it's not too bad.

@twodoghouse: Wow yeah that's a ton of books! The library thing is really easy though, at least mine is. I just go onto the libraries website, click on the overdrive link, put in my library card then choose whatever books I want.

@Bao: I need to check it out again! I live in a medium-sized town and when I tried before (it's been a couple years) the library didn't have many ebooks to choose from. I imagine it's grown a lot since then!

@twodoghouse: yeah ours doesn't have tons but there's a good handful so at least there's something to read for free.

I buy most of my ebooks, and expense them (since they're almost all business books). I also just started using the Amazon Prime lending library...

We were given 500+ ebooks, so I've mostly read those. I've tried to use Amazon Prime, but they never have the books I'm looking for. I haven't tried the library for ebooks, but I do borrow paper copies frequently. I buy about 10 ebooks a year.

I've purchased maybe 15 books on my Kobo, generally when I want to start reading something 10 minutes ago and I am too lazy to go to the store or wait for Amazon delivery. It is so handy to have them upload right that minute!

I buy tons of ebooks. I try to check with the library first to see if they have what I want to read, but if they don't have it or it's checked out, I'll usually buy it. I'm too impatient to wait!

Almost entirely borrow from the library. I love it! And I'm cheap!

I've bought quite a few, but I've also got quite a few Barnes & Nobles gift cards for birthdays/Christmas.
And thanks to this thread, I just checked out my local library's e-book list and they've added a TON more since last time I looked! Excited to be reading books for free this summer
