Both my grandparents and dh's grandma always give us money for Christmas. We usually do something special, last year we put it toward our anniversary dinner and b&b.
I am trying to decide between nice curtains for the living room or a bed frame. Our mattress is currently on the floor!

My parents always give us money. We'll probably use it to go toward DS's twin bed set since he's still in a toddler bed.

@mrbee: It's not too much - but it's always nice to receive some!! Our grandparents are awesome - they still send us a little money for our birthdays too!

Yup my hubs' grandmother always gives us a significant amount of money at Xmas. I usually use it to "repay" our savings account for the cost of our property taxes. I'm lame like that.

I usually ask for money in lieu of gifts to shop for myself. My family knows that I'm a huge enormous minimalist, and is respectful of wanting to get me gifts that I will really enjoy and use.

DH's grandfather gives all of his grandkids money (and there's a lot of them). My dad started giving us money as well.
