For as long as I can remember, I had a bath, brushed my teeth and then was told to go to bed. My parents never read to me (too tired from working all day) or do anything out of the ordinary.
Did you have a bedtime routine as a kid?

I had what we would call a routine, but it didn't feel like one at the time. It was just what we did. I took my bath, brushed my teeth and my mom brushed my hair. My mom and I read the Children's Daily bible. Then I went to bed. Once I started school, I had to read every night from a book that wasn't for a school project. My mom wanted to make sure I learned to enjoy reading for pleasure and not just for school. It's still a habit I follow to this day - always read a little bit each day from a book that isn't work related.

I don't remember taking a bath at night either, but i do remember my mom would always read to me, or at least make up a story. Poor woman, she was always so tired from work that she would fall asleep while talking to me.
Once i got older, i would always read a book after brushing my teeth and then my parents would yell at me to go to bed already.

I remember brushing my teeth and reading before bed. I don't know what my parents were doing. I don't think they read to me either.

We brushed our teeth and got in bed, and then my mom or dad would sit in the hall between our bedrooms and read for a half hour out of whatever chapter book we were in the middle off. I remember The Great Brian and Ralph S. Mouse as two of our favorites (when my dad was on reading duty, it was more likely Sherlock Holmes or The Hardy Boys). I think we continued this routine until I was 12 and my brother was 10. Then we were expected to read on our own before lights out.
