My 6 week old is always sleeping...I want to play with her! I just read 4 books to her while she was asleep.
My older LO was sleeping less around 3 weeks but she was born at almost 42 weeks and my new baby was born at 39 weeks.

I think my LO didn't realize she was supposed to have a sleepy newborn phase. She was born curious, aka nosy and afraid of missing something!

@rattles: same. We totally skipped that phase and went straight to colic central.

I think between 4-5 weeks old she got really fussy, but she was up all night the first couple nights in the hospital, so I don't think she ever really had the super sleepy phase that people talk about. She did sleep on outings the first couple weeks but I think it was because she was due for a nap anyway..we aimed to be done between feedings.
