Mine was low key and kinda boring. The DH and I were dating and we went to a restaurant. At the time, tequila was my drink so I had a few. Ugh! Yuck!

I don't think I did anything special, but I could legally drink and go to bars at 18 lol, so 21 wasn't a big deal.

Yes. It was the night before a final and I didn't go out because my exam was in the early morning.
My professor gave me bonus points for showing up sober.

Oh yes... I'm a Nov baby so I was one of the lasts to turn 21 so I was forced to drink a lot (for me). I threw up outside the bar and had like hives/rashes all over my body!

Yep, it was lame. I was taking summer school and it was midterms week, I had an exam both the day before and the day after. My BF at the time took me to Marie Calendars and I don't think I even had a drink.

Heh, yeah, parts of it. I remember lighting a counter top on fire while we made Flaming Dr. Pepper's, and getting really mad at my friends because they left me hungover in the bathroom while they swam downstairs . Hah!

Yes. Bar with friends, but I did not get drunk and I left sort of early because I had an 8am class the next day I couldn't miss.

Yup, everyone in our group who had already turned 21 took me out to a couple places. They were thrilled that they had an excuse to take me out without my BF, whom they disliked.

Yep. My family and DH threw me a surprise party.

We went to BWW and I had sangria. Then we stopped at a liquor store and the owner gave me a free beer because we had the same birthday.
After that, I watched a movie with DH, and he was mad at me the entire time because I drank.

yes! It was just me and DH (we were engaged then I think) and we happened to be in New Jersey for a trip. It was incredibly fun.

Yep!!! We all tried to do 21 drinks in the day for our birthdays! I started early so i made it :). I also got my belly button pierced that day!

Mine was awful. I had been living with my grandmother who had a cancerous brain tumor and she went in to the hospital due to a blood infection on my birthday. Later, my aunt had a small joint birthday party for me and my cousin, whose 12th birthday was two days before. I remember my aunts and uncles gave me lots of money for my birthday that year, lol.

I was in London doing a Shakespeare study abroad program. We watched a full-length (4 hour) Hamlet that evening and then the other students surprised me with a cake while wearing masks in the motel pub. It was fun!

Yes. My birthday is in the summer and we tried to go to some bars before i was officially 21 (like hours away) and some bouncers wouldnt let us in. So we ended up at "diner" across the street with a bachelorette party who bought me shots. Then my camera died. It was so hot out that day.

I was one of the few girls who were 21, so most of my guy friends took me out (at the time I had 3 guy roommates.) I was very drunk and decided to try and sleep in a booth...not my finest hour. My roommates took me home and one slept on the couch by my room to make sure I was okay

I remember the beginning of the night, but the rest- not so much! I was a bartender and went to the bar I worked at with a bunch of friends. Every time I turned around someone was like "hey do a shot with me for your birthday!" I still can't drink Jager because of that night!

I went back home to celebrate with some friends up there, ended up running into a guy I had gone on several dates with before I moved... never told him I was moving and I changed my phone number. Fortunately there were no hurt feelings and we ended up spending the next day out on his boat!
The birthday that is foggy is my 24th birthday. DH (then boyfriend) and I spent the day on the beach drinking rum and coke waiting for a free concert that night. We finished the bottle...

Yep! We went downtown to a few clubs and I was very tired and had a few too many and started feeling nauseous. Luckily I wasn't very drunk by the time we had to leave because the song "Pop, Lock and Drop It" and my friend did just that and split her pants right up the middle. Her whole butt was hanging out. I was wearing a long top so we went into the bathroom and switched shirts before deciding to head out. I was very excited for an excuse to go home (she was DD). We all had a good laugh about it!

Not at all...But in Canada, 21 isn't a big deal. Legal is 19-years.

@jhd: I was studying abroad too! In Paris. So drinking was already no big deal. I actually had a terrible cold. Friends showed up at my apartment to celebrate but I had to turn them away since I was so sick!

Yep nothing special I got up went to work (I was working at SAMs club behind the jewelry counter) work from 9am-7:30pm got off went to the liquor store and brought a bottle of Nuvo went home and drunk the whole bottle by myself and listen to music and watched movies. I was single then just went through a break up but meet DH a few months later that. Was only 3 years ago

Yeah. I was really disappointed because my boyfriend at the time was in a band and he accepted a gig on my 21st birthday. I was so upset with him! Then my dad asked if he could take me for a meal so I accepted - which really upset my mum (they are divorced) and she didn't speak to me for several weeks. She didn't even send me a card to say happy birthday. So I went for a meal with my dad and then went to the boyfriend's gig - and sulked all evening!
He's a good guy.
