Whenever my DH and I go somewhere (he drives 95% of the time) I sit in the back seat with our 5 month old. I sure do miss riding with DH in the front - but I am not so sure I am ready to let baby ride lonesome in the backseat. Maybe soon I will be.

I sit in the back with her. If no one's sitting with her she gets cranky!

in the beginning i did bc his head flopped and i worried about him. now, only occasionally if he is crying but he loves the car so its rare.. lo is 2 months. we have a mirror in the back to see him when were driving which I LOVE.

Up until LO turned a year old, one of us sat in the back while the other drove. But now, I gave that up and we sit up front with each other now.

I sit up front with DH. I sat in the back when LO was a newborn though.
LO is 17 months old. I sat in the back on and off for the first 2-3 months.

No, we never did this. We usually drive her solo but if we are both there I still sit upfront. She never minded her car seat that much.

No, I sit up front with DH. We live in NYC so we don't have a car and rent them on occasion. She usually passes out pretty quickly and only fusses if we hit traffic.

Only on occasion if she gets super cranky I will climb back there. I hate riding in back so I promised myself I wouldn't make it a habit.

Sometimes...DS Isnt the best backseat passenger. I only go in the backseat when he's fussing. I prefer to sit in the front with DH though.

I have never had to. Even on the ride home from the hospital I rode in the front seat. Sawyer is awesome in the car though, he actually gets excited when I strap him in the carseat

If its a long car ride I sit in the back. Otherwise, I sit in the front. Our LO is 3 months old.

I only sit in the back with DD if she's having a complete meltdown - otherwise, I sit up front with DH. We do have a mirror though and that helps a LOT - I feel much more comfortable driving around knowing that we can see her without having to contort ourselves into crazy positions. LO is 11 weeks old and we've done this since birth.

I do this all the time. DH doesn't seem to care and I think it is more fun for me and LO. She is now 9 months old. Maybe when she is in the bigger car seat I will switch? But for now if it ain't broke...

Whoa. Everyone stayed back there a long time. I probably would have but DH insisted I ride with him up front at 5 or so weeks and I have ever since. She sleeps most of the time or sings along to radio so I know she's happy as can be

I used to when she was a newborn, but now that she's about 6.5 months old, I usually sit up front.

I still sit in the back, but we hardly ever go anywhere by car. If we do, it's for longer trips and with LO rear facing, I can't see what he needs without undoing my seatbelt and kneeling on the seat, which is pretty dangerous. My husband always drives, I much prefer to be the passenger.

I sat in the back with DS when we left the hospital to go home. DH deployed when DS was 10 days old, so I was the only driver and there weren't any other options. Now, at 12 months old, I only sit in the back if he's extremely cranky. I like sitting up front with DH!

@Sweet T: That is ROUGH! I am so glad my DH didn't have to deploy. We actually TTC after he came back from deployment and restationed somewhere he wouldn't get deployed anymore. Major props to you! Glad your husband is home again.

I Ride in the back with LO if DH is driving, its better that way because I can tell if she is getting upset and address the problem before she has a meltdown

Not unless we're on a road trip and the kids need to go to sleep. Otherwise, I consider short day trips to be our parenting break and let them fend for themselves back there.
