I've heard that works really well! DD has so few toys that I just leave them all out.

yep, we do. Liv has a lot of stuff. We keep her absolute favorites out (stuff she plays with daily) but the things she only plays wiht sometimes, we rotate. I keep them (and a basket of small toys) in the top of her closet, and on the occasions that I rotate she alwyas greets the new ones with a big gasp and excitement. Love it

If he had more toys I totally would. He gets bored with them each day I think. He has a toy bin in the livingroom, and another in his bedroom. but they are small.

The kids have a lot of stuff so I rotate their stuff out. I started by separating the toys by kind. Any kind of toys we had a lot of (e.g. cars, musical instruments, puppets, etc...), I put into cloth boxes on bookshelves. The kis can take one box down at a time, which keeps them interested and limits cleanup time. With the rest of the toys (usually big to medium toys), I put them in a giant container in our self-storage, and then rotate them out every few months. It's like getting brand new toys several times a year!

We started doing this recently and it worked like a charm! He had this leapfrog laptop that he never played with it, so I put it away for 2 weeks. When I brought it out, he played with it every day for a week.
