Do you say "I love you" to ILs?

I would if I did, but we are completely estranged. One is in prison and the other is a terrible person (no, for real) and incapacitated alcoholic. Whomp whomp.

DH is from an "I love you" family where they say it to each other every time they speak on the phone or at the end of a visit. I'm not like that so I only say it to my FIL (MIL has passed away) when he says it to me.

No, but I don't say it to my parents either. We hug instead I think it's a cultural thing, no one I know says I love you to their parents or ILs.

We have a great relationship, but no. I didn't grow up in a family that said it regularly, and only started signing cards to my own parents with "love" in the past few years, so it's just not phrasing I use easily or often.

    No, I don't. We're not that close.

Yes I do. Almost every day.

Definitely, because I do love them. I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it! We don't say it often, though, whereas I say it to my own parents every time we say goodbye or hang up the phone or finish texting for the night... Lol.

Yep. While I may not love them in the same way that I love my parents, I love them because they are DH's parents and my LO's grandparents. We have our differences, but without them, I wouldn't have DH or LO.
