I only do it when they are the only appointments available! It is no big deal during the slow months at work but I think my boss gets annoyed during the busier season.

I try to schedule appointments for first thing in the morning so I can tie up any loose ends the night before and come into work a little late rather than having to leave midday.

I try not to. I found a dentist that does weekend appointments, which I much prefer, anyway.
Doctors here don't work weekends so I try to schedule them before work or near the end of the work day to take up as little work time as possible.

Yep! That's mostly when I schedule them. I don't usually take a lunch break so I don't think its a big deal for me to leave for an appointment every once in a while.

I generally have to; most people don't work outside of 8-5 either it seems.
I do try to schedule appointments either from 11-1, or 8:30am or 4:30 pm so that they don't disrupt my entire day and I either go over normal lunch time, or just get in late or leave early. My hours are flexible, so no one cares if I leave at 4 instead of 5, as long as I come in earlier that day, or "make it up" during the week

yes -always
But we are allowed flex time - so as long as I work 40 hours then they don't care

I try not to. I get every other Friday off, so I try to schedule all my appointments on those days, but sometimes I can't. In those cases, I try to do early morning or late afternoon so as to limit the impact to my work.

Yep, either before or after work since I work M-F and currently my OB practice does not have Sat appointments.
For dentist/optometrist, etc I try to go to a practice that has Sat appointments.

I pretty much have to. I work from 6am-4pm. I try to make appointments for the end of the day, or on Monday and Fridays when I work from home.

When I used to work I tried to schedule them right before or during lunch! But if I had to schedule them during it was nbd.

I try not to but sometimes, ok most of the time, I don't have a choice. My doctor only works 9-3:30 certain days of the week so I have to schedule them during my work hours (I work 7:30-4). I don't usually take a lunch break and I'm always here early so I don't see it as being a big deal. I do try to schedule them either first thing or at the end of the day though.

almost never, but i am able to do that because i don't work fridays so as long as the office is open friday, that's when i make appts.
nectarine / 2358 posts
Nope because I work 7pm-7am but if I had a day job I'd try to schedule for early morning or late afternoon to avoid conflicts.

I try to schedule most appointments during my lunch break or around 4pm. It works out pretty well since the kids can stay at daycare during my appointments.

I don't usually have a choice. My doctors and such don't have appointments outside of my working hours. So I try to get appointment times first thing in the morning so I can just go in to work a little late. That seems to be the least disruptive.

I try not to, but usually I have to leave early at least. My old boss was super cool with the leaving-early-for-doctor-appointments thing, but my new boss...not sure.

I try not to. It's hard, though, especially being pregnant and having to go in more often.

Fridays are my day off and are my appointment days for me and my LO's.
pomelo / 5257 posts
I wouldn't if I had a choice, but it seems pretty much impossible to get an appointment outside of 8 - 5, M-F, which is when I work. When I used to work 1pm - 10pm on weekdays, I would always schedule during non-work hours. I did find a dermatologist that is open on Saturdays and I was very excited, lol.

I try to always schedule late afternoon so I skip lunch and only leave an hour or so early. My boss is usually pretty understanding about doc appointments, ect. It's hard though right now 2 of the 3 of us are pregnant, so I feel like always one of us is headed to the doc office for an appointment!

I do. It's easiest to get them done and out of the way. A few of my doctors are downtown, so I see them during lunch hours or around that. With LO's appointments, I schedule them around his nap time.

Yup, if they are in the town I work in, I run out in the middle of the day. If they are in a neighboring city, I schedule them first thing in the morning or late afternoon.

Only if its what's available. It's pretty flexible here so not a big deal if I do.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
Yep. I just flex the time for it. I wish doctors offices were open at 7am, but they never are!
