My daughter threw up last night. I think something was bugging her tummy because she threw up a bunch of food and then seemed fine in the morning. We sent her to school where she is doing fine today. No fever.
Do you send your lo to school the next day if they get sick over night?

No, I don't send him. My kid gets like sickness hangovers, lol, so he's miserable the next day.

No. I'm pretty strict on vomit, diarrhea, and fever. Even if I think I know why he threw up.

I just had this happen last week and I kept him home. But I think the single puke with no fever is a tough one!

Depends on how she is after the vomit. LO just turned 1, and we're working on solids and drinking from cups -she has a pretty strong gag reflex so sometimes she'll throw up while eating/drinking, but is cheery and smiling soon after.
If there are multiple incidents of vomit/diarrhea, a fever, or just seems "sick," then yeah, she's home.

My son is like me in that sometimes he just needs to puke. If he doesn't seem to be bothered by the puking and he seems just fine otherwise and sleeps okay and is cheerful in the morning with a regular appetite, normal stools, etc then I don't sweat it. If he's fussy and all the other stuff then we stay home.

I'll answer for school or other events. Nope. Because if someone else mentioned they or their kid piled hours previously I would be upset.

It depends. If I know it was something like he ate too much or it was car sickness or something like that, then yes. If I think it's a stomach bug or he has other symptoms, no.

I have but only because the only times she's actually puked have been from coughing fits, so I know it's not a stomach bug. If it was a legit upset tummy, I wouldn't send her to school the next day.

My DS puked every morning for the entire first winter in daycare (post nasal drip + breakfast = barf) and we always sent him. I knew it was not a tummy bug!

We did once when he seemed completely fine the next day. Usually we go by the 24 hour rule.

No, we go by the 24-hour mark. But she's only ever thrown up when she is clearly sick.

Only once because we knew it was from car sickness. Other than that we follow the 24 hour rule.

Yes, as long as it's a one-time thing. She's puked overnight but been fine (something bothering her tummy from dinner).

No, between DH and I, we could work from home if needed or switch off so in that situation, I'd keep her home.

Yes as long as it was a one time thing and there's no fever. DS1 gets this episodes where he'll get sick in the evening, puke, get really sleepy, and wake up fine. Based on our experience with him on this, he's always fine the next day so I send him.
