We haven't yet, but probably will once it starts getting hot!

No, at least not yet. The bedrooms get really cold and although I don't mind it, DH does, and I don't want to freeze E, especially now that we transitioned him out of the sleep sack.

Always! I live in Texas so our AC basically never gets turned off.

@Smurfette: HAhaha is it?! I haven't been outside today, but we had the windows open and the air was cool!
coconut / 8472 posts
Absolutely. Leaving the windows open bothers my allergies, so AC whenever it gets at all warm.
wonderful pea / 17279 posts
Yes, we run the A/C around the clock. We also keep the fan.

We always did in the apartment but haven't turned it on in our house yet, but we will because it gets so hot upstairs where our rooms are.

@chopsuey119: umm yea it's hot! Where do you live again? It's so stick and muggy out!
We prefer no AC but when it's this sticky and humid, it's on!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: I'm in Atlanta! We live high up in the sky though.. so maybe that's why the air's cooler up here?

@chopsuey119: Today wasn't as bad but we have had our AC on for a couple weeks. Aren't you in a high rise? Cooler up there.

100%!! We're having a heatwave in NY and I can't sleep without the a/c. It's warm enough in here as it is WITH it on. Can't wait to get a house and get central air!!
hostess / wonderful honeydew / 32460 posts
@Smurfette: Yeah, we live on the 35th floor. Haven't had to turn our ac on yet, but I know we'll have to soon!

Nope. We haven't put the unit in the window yet, but even when we do in the hottest part of summer, nights up here in ND are so pleasant that it would be a shame to have to keep the windows shut overnight.

We're in Northern California, and don't have A/C in our apartment. Very few homes do! Recently, it's been warm, and at nearly 9 months pregnant, I am quite hot at night. I've been rocking some pretty short PJ shorts, and only sleep with a sheet, and the windows open.

@chopsuey119: isn't that called HOTlanta?! It was close to 90 today and pretty humid here. We lasted 20 minutes at the park!

Another Texas gal here, and we run our A/C most of the year. It's far too humid here to get away with opening the windows and running the fans, even when it's still in the 80's.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
Yes, only cause dh wants it on. It's 85 right now in the bedroom which would be fine by me.
cantaloupe / 6171 posts
yep! our only window in our bedroom has an a/c unit in it so we can't open it, and since the room gets really stuffy we've been turning it on at night for months already....

YES> especially tonight - it's HOT in Boston, driving home at 6 tonight it was 91. so thankful for central air on nights like these.
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
Heck yeah! It's been on for at least a month. 78.
cantaloupe / 6164 posts
Yes! The humidity is miserable here. I have the AC & ceiling fan on. I can't sleep if I'm even a little hot.
pomegranate / 3521 posts
Yep. The house is set to a specific temp.. so whenever it turns on - it turns on. We live like penguins in the summer. David Suzuki would not be happy.

I live in Texas. So, yes. I do miss summers in Michigan - all you needed was a box fan in the window. Sigh.

We live in Southern California. Our AC is on at night starting in late March. Husband is like a furnace and I don't sleep well when I'm warm. We keep it meat locker cold at night time.
honeydew / 7091 posts
Never did before DD, but I'll probably be worried that she'll get too hot and make DH turn it on. We haven't turned it on yet.
We used to keep our house set at 80 in the summer though

Yes. I was going to try and wait until it's officially summer, but the weekend is only supposed to warmer.
