I am conversational in ASL and have a basic understanding of German. I am teaching our boys ASL.
DH is fluent in German and is conversational in Spanish. He has a very basic understanding of ASL (improving as I teach the boys.)

Fluent in Spanish. I try to speak only Spanish to LO, and when with family we speak Spanish. I buy bilingual books and DVR univision kid programs (like Pocoyo and Jungle Book in Spanish). She understands a lot but so far has said only one Spanish word ("leche"). We'll see what happens but I hope she speaks it! (17 months now)

I'm fluent in Spanish, albeit a little rusty, but feel weird teaching it to my kids since I'm not a native speaker--it's my own hangup. I have taught them a few vocab words, but I should be better about it.

I'm fluent in Greek (first language) and I understand some Macedonian. My kid speaks very little Greek though, just random words that her granny taught her.

Fluent in French. I work in French and speak primarily French with my DH. Our LOs have been bilingual from birth, and are becoming trilingual through daycare.

@Pumuckl: are there lots of bilingual day cares in your area? It seems like it is very common here (Vienna), although, my LOs are in a German-only daycare.

@Pumuckl: That's kind of the same as here, I've seen that "bilingual" just means that someone speaks English at least some of the time. At DS's first daycare the "native English speaker" was Czech! That said, I am blown away by how many young (under 8 years) kids do speak and understand at least a little bit of English, so they are definitely learning something!

We speak Cantonese growing up and went to Chinese school on Saturdays. I try to speak Cantonese to DS most of the time and plan to bring him to Chinese school when he is older.

I speak/read/write German...but with questionable grammar sometimes! I have very basic command of Spanish and a smattering of French.
