It's about 37 degrees today and rainy, and I'm supposed to go visit my Grandma with Sadie. Grandma hasn't met her yet, so I hate to cancel, but I'm not sure if I should take her out. Would you take your infant out if it was cold and rainy?

37 isn't so bad! It was 30 and snowy and we were out today. Granted, he's a toddler, though ...
Properly bundled your LO should be just fine.

I assume she'll be in the car/Grandma's house most of the time? If so, I would, I'd just make sure she was dressed warmly and bring an extra blanket if your car takes forever to warm up life mine does.

I do it all the time. Her first ped appt was on a day that was 12 degrees and snowing. Just be sure to bundle bundle bundle and block the wind.

yes! We took LO out when he was pretty small - but we would heat the car prior to getting in the car, then he was only outside from the car to wherever we were going... We also had a fleece wrap covering the car seat & with the cover up & over he was protected! 37 isn't too bad, I'm sure LO will be fine as long as they are bundled!

We live in Canada, and if I didn't take her out i the cold, I'd never get out! We bundle her up nicely though. When we get home she's always toasty warm...

Yep, I live in Chicago and LO was born in December so it's been super cold. We take her out all the time as long as we are going somewhere indoors. Just bundle her up in layers and you're good to go.

haha.. y'all probably think I'm crazy -- 37 is so cold to me! But thanks... I'll bundle her up.

Just bundle her up! We do a jacket, mittens, hats...then use the JJ Cole Bundleme on the carseat. When I take them out of the carriers, they are sometimes sweating in 40-degree weather! Sadie will be fine!

Oh yeah, bundle and block, and you'll be fine. All over Europe they give their babies fresh air daily, regardless of weather. I think there may have been a blog post about it ages ago!

@photojane: If she'll be in the car, just warm it up before taking her out and wrap her in a cozy blanket, since you can't strap her in when she's in anything puffy anyway.

All the time otherwise we'd never leave! Just cover her up out in the open so her cheeks don't get chapped in the wind and have fun!

Like @oliviaoblivia: and @tinyperson: , we live in Canada and if we didn't take her out in the cold we wouldn't go out until April. I take her out in most weathers but I wear her,use a wind cover and a winter cover over the ergo and wrap her up warmly - she's so toasty when I lift her out, she's fine. Blocking the wind is very important but as long as you bundle LO up she should be fine.

For sure. If I'm wearing her, she gets almost too warm inside my coat, even if it's 20 degrees out. If she's in her seat/stroller, I just be sure to bundle her up and it's no problem.
@Mrs. Chen: I live in Chicago too, and my LO was born 12/1! Let's be friends

@Rattles: Hey there! My LO was born 12/20. Woohoo December babies! Nice meeting you here! It's been a nutty couple of months huh? Haha!

We went out & though the wind almost blew us away, we survived! Thanks everyone!
