I used to always take my wedding band off at night when I was pregnant and now i have gotten used to that. But I think i'm gonna start sleeping with my ring on now.

I only take mine off when I'm mixing raw meat with my hands.

I only take mine off now when I'm doing dishes, or cleaning with something "heavy," but generally I leave it on 24/7! I'm going to be so sad when my fingers get too swollen for it..

Ha ha ha - I haven't worn my rings since I was 12 weeks pregnant. I wear a claddagh ring now and don't take it off ever, just like when I was wearing my wedding rings.

I don't usually take my wedding band off. I don't wear my engagement ring often though.

I'm the same as @mrs. bird. I really never take my band off, even when I probably should, but I leave my engagement ring home a lot.

I usually only put my rings on when we're going somewhere that requires me getting dressed in something other than my SAHM uniform of a tank top and sport skort.

I only wear my rings when leaving the house; I usually take them off right when I get home.

@tororojo: yes I used to do that i the beginning when we first got married, I just wanted to keep it safe.. but now that its been over a year I'm trying to relax and keep it on more often.

it's been more than 2 years for us and 3 since I first received my e-ring. I always take it off when i'm asleep and for so may other things. It bothers me than anything else....DH doesn't like when were cuddling or something and he gets scratched!

I’ve always taken it off before I go to bed, even before I was pregnant. Now it’s a necessity! I forgot last night and I went to take it off during one of my middle of the night bathroom trips and it was really hard to get off my finger!

Yup, my MIL told me that over time the threads in your comforter pulls at the prongs and will loosen them. She's had diamonds come loose that way! So I take them off!
And especially with M now I'm afraid of hitting her with it so it comes off as soon as I get home.
ETA: My husband pretty much keeps his on all the time. It's a plain platinum band so pretty much indestructible.

I take my wedding band off every day when I get home. DH does too.

Yep! I don't sleep, shower, or cook with mine on. DH takes his off as soon as he gets home. If we are home all day I usually don't put my rings on. Or I will wear one of my wedding bands, I have two.

I take mine off when I get home. I didn't always do that, but I started to get a rash under my rings (I think water/soap is getting stuck under the eternity band) so my Dr said to take them off and let it air out. Now I'm just used to taking them off.
In fact, I'm not wearing them now because I forgot to put them back on when I left for work today.

I always take them off at night. My fingers get swollen during the night and I can't stand when they are too tight. Plus, I have heard the same thing, that it wears them down slightly faster, and I'm afraid of scratching H. But I take off ALL jewelry to sleep-- stud earrings, necklace, bracelet, it all comes off.
H also wants me to take it off at night-- partly for the scratching thing, but he feels like it's extra unnecessary wear on it. But he wears his plain platinum band all the time.

confession, since I got pregnant the second time around, I haven't put on my wedding ring on since.

@Mrsbells: We've also been married a little over a year (April 2011) and for me, taking the ring off is mainly about comfort. As soon as I walk in the door, I take off shoes, rings, earrings and put my hair up. I have to be free! None of those things bother me until I get home but then I have to go into vegetable mode.

I take my rings off to shower, do dishes, and do messy food prep like handling raw meat.

Before I was pregnant, I wore my rings all the time, 24/7. Since being pregnant/having LO, my hands swell so much in the mornings that I have to take them off at night.

I started taking my E-ring off when I get home from work because when I wore it 24/7, it got dirty quickly. I try to go to the jewelry store to have it cleaned every 3 or 4 weeks, and it stays sparkly much longer if I don't bathe/workout/etc in it.
I always leave my tiny pave band on though. Mainly because I feel self-conscious being pregnant and not having a band on, if I have to run out somewhere. That is so old school but I'm very wary of it!
