I think I look my age or older these days!

No I look younger. I'm almost 25 and a lot of people thing I look younger than 20. For example last year I went to pick up a Forever21 order at the post office, and the man working there said "don't you have to be at least 21 to shop there?"
Another person once asked me "are you 16? or 17?" like those were the only two options. I was 22! It sucks, I don't feel I am taken seriously! I'm sure I will appreciate it one day though.

I've been carded a few times in the past year (and our legal age in Canada is 19!). I feel like the baby bump (hopefully) gives it away though, lol
coconut / 8483 posts
@char54: haha I'm in Canada too and get carded occasionally. We just got back from a trip to the states.. we went out for a drink one night and DH and I both didn't get served because we forgot our ID in the condo! BOO! Some of the places there said they ID under 40!

I look younger and it doesn't help that my voice sounds young, too.
nectarine / 2765 posts
I'm in my early 30's and people never guess my age right. I still get carded & recently someone thought my sister (who's 12 years younger) was older. And she looks young. The number especially depending on what I'm wearing/my hair, etc. Apparently, I also sound like a little kid on the phone.

based on some people's comment, i think i look younger than i am. if you didn't know anything about me except my looks, many people might think i was in my 20s. i'm reposting a bump photo from a few months ago--how old would you say i am?
i'm 36 1/2 years old.

No. I look younger. I was getting a haircut about a month ago and the stylist asked me what grade I was in! I said, "uhh, I'm an attorney." WTF?! I know I look young but I don't think I look like I should be in high school!
grapefruit / 4923 posts
@lawbee11: yes, if people didn't know me in a work setting, they would probably think i was 21. since i'm an attorney, they assume that i'm at least 25 (or at least i hope so!).

I've always looked older than my age. It was cool when I was a teenager, but not anymore!
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@edelweiss: ha before I scrolled down I thought to myself... she looks 20 but she's probably like 27. You definitely don't look your age (and I mean that as a compliment... I hope you like hearing that!) ps - love your pug! I have one too
hostess / wonderful honeydew / 32460 posts
@edelweiss: you definitely look like you're in your 20s!
grapefruit / 4923 posts
@Shutterbug: oh my goodness you have a pug?? i would love to see a photo if you have one (feel free to post to my wall if you want--but you don't have to)!
pomegranate / 3331 posts
@lawbee11: ha I get this all the time! And I always give them a snarky "actually I'm an attorney" in response haha. I'm early 30s and apparently look like I'm in high school

I look younger. When someone asks my age they are usually surprised that I'm not a teenager.

I think I look older. I haven't been carded since before I was 19.
pomegranate / 3580 posts
I've always looked younger but lately I think I'm getting a *bit* closer to my real age. Although, DH and I were in Baby Gap the other day and the sales lady made a comment about how we were "already" having a baby (we're 28!!).
apricot / 363 posts
@edelweiss: you look great!
The main negative is you are not taken seriously at work. You have to work harder for respect and recognition, which I think is good. It does still bother me though. Ugh!
coconut / 8472 posts
I look younger too. I just turned 35 this week and people generally think I'm in my 20's. Which is good because DH is 28 and I don't want to look 10 years older than him!
pomegranate / 3980 posts
According to everyone I look older, but it's a good thing since I am real young.

I think I look older. I am 31 but I look older. I think four kids did it, I blame them.
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
On our honeymoon one of our flights had us seated on an emergency exit row. The flight attendant asked me if I was 15 because you have to be 15+ to sit there. He was dead serious and didn't ask anyone else in that row
So, I say younger!

Younger.. often when I refer to DH as " my husband" people will respond back referring to him as my "boyfriend" .. it is like they can't wrap their head around the fact that I am married because I look "too young" . I am 27.
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
I look younger. I'm 23 and most people think I'm around 18.
But lately, I've had a lot of my students' parents who are thinking I'm closer to 30. Maybe it's because I act more mature around my kids?
cantaloupe / 6146 posts
@edelweiss: You look so good pregnant! Not that I've seen you not pregnant.
Before baby people thought I was a teenager (I turn 30 this year!)... now I think they think I'm in my 20s or 30s.

I think I look younger, especially when I tie my hair back. I always get carded even when I'm with my LO and husband. My husband says he never gets carded when he's alone.
At Nordstrom, I was having my jeans measured by the alterations lady and she asked me if I was sure if I wanted them cut so short since I might still grow... She thought I was still a teenager!
eggplant / 11287 posts
@edelweiss: I would have guessed you were 23.
Guess how old I am?
cantaloupe / 6164 posts
@edelweiss: I'd definitely say low-mid 20's. Good genes!
@Rainbow Sprinkles: 24? I'm terrible at this.
I think I look pretty much exactly my age. A guy did call me ma'am at Applebee's the other day. That was depressing.
eggplant / 11824 posts
On our honeymoon, a woman told me she thought I was 19. Considering my husband was in his mid 40's then, I'm sure she thought he was a giant perv.
I'm 31.

I'm about to turn 25, but when my sister went to register her (then) 13 year old daughter for school I went with her and the registrar asked what classes I wanted to sign up for (!!!). My sister was like.. she's 23, a teacher, and isn't my daughter.
It's hilarious because
1. I in no way look THAT young.
2. My sister was a young teen mom and is only 6 years older than me but does not look old enough to have a teenager so the fact that the registrar thought my sister looked old enough to be my mom is hilarious.
We had a good laugh about it.
pomelo / 5257 posts
Nope, I'm 25 but people have routinely thought I'm in high school. It's annoying. Everyone always says, "You'll appreciate that when you're older!" but with my luck I'll turn 30 and immediately look 40, haha.
pineapple / 12053 posts
People always think I'm younger. I'm 29 but I swear people think I'm in college. When I was 23 and volunteering with a HS group I got asked where I was going to college. They thought I was a HS senior!
wonderful pea / 17279 posts
I am starting to look older, well less carding. People generally think I just graduated from college. I'm almost 31.
Edit: I was at a home show and purchased an stovetop grille. The lady tried to talk me out of the sale because "I was too young to invest in good cookware." She was persistent about. Bizarre.

haha well, I helped DH drop his boys off at school one day about a month ago. It was the first time any of their teachers saw me and one of them asked DH the next day who I was. When he told her I was his wife they were shocked and thought I was his daughter! LOL. Now, I don't think I look that young and I've gotten mixed results from different people.

I think generally younger! But when I don't wear makeup I definitely be younger than when I wear full on makeup. Sometimes I still get asked what school I go to or what my major is! I'm 33 fwiw!
