yes and no, but leaning more towards no. the biggest thing is that he texts/facebooks while driving. *shudders* No matter how many times I get onto him, he still does it. sigh.

Yes, definitely. Probably more so than me cause I will check my phone and text sometimes, and he's always telling me not to or refusing to talk to me in the car (before I had bluetooth). I also get more impatient and am more aggressive than him. But in terms of skill, awareness, and handling, we are both the same.

I think he is safe in terms of not getting into injury accidents. He's pretty cautious but also a stellar merger (something I struggle with) so I feel like driving around he is very safe. But I think he's way more likely to get into very minor fender benders because he is not awesome at maneuvering is small spaces and I always feel like he's going to hit something when he likes... tries to go between 2 parked cars.

I think he's say I'm mostly safe but he thinks I'm too aggressive. I think I'm perfectly safe

I'l be the first to say no not that he's UN-safe, he's just not the best driver I've ridden with. He's a little road-ragey

He's very safe. He's a very good driver. He's not as cautious as I am, though. We've both become impatient east coast drivers since moving to DC.

Here is how the conversation in our car goes:

Me: Traffic is stopping ahead.

DH: I am not going to go running into the back of cars.

Me: I just wanted to make sure you saw.

DH: It is a good thing you were here or I may have gotten in an accident it is a wonder how i drive safe without you in the car.

I think he doesn't pay enough attention, but he thinks he does LOL!

@ctegge0416: My conversations usually go the opposite - my husband is a terrible backseat driver. Every time I drive, I end up shouting something like, "I have been driving for more than 15 years without your help!!!"

@septca: Yea. Not fun. He has realized a little that it gives me anxiety, so he tries to not drive like that with me.

Mine is not I used to have a sports car and we had to get rid of it because it made him drive wild. He still got in an accident with my truck I have really worked to help him and it has been three years no accidents!

Yes, he is the safest driver I know!!

He can be a little impatient with other drivers but otherwise I think he's a pretty safe driver, especially in adverse weather conditions (he's a great driver in the snow/on the ice, for example).
