If you don't smell or hear that their diaper is dirty, do you take off the swaddle or leave it for the middle of the night feedings?

I do whether its dirty or not. L doesn't feed very well while swaddled and I just get frustrated. I also usually always change him in between boobs. I offer him the second boob after the change just to get him back to sleep. Lol.

When DS was a newborn, I usually unswaddled him, mostly because his swaddles came loose anyway. I did what @.twist.: did and would change his diaper right before I switched to the other boob.

Yes, I did unswaddle to nurse in the night. I found it easier and I usually had to do a diaper change anyway.

I keep it on while I feed her because she has a habit of jamming her hands in her mouth and it makes for a less frantic feed. She is usually sleepy then but I know I have to change her nappy - and there's always a poop in it - so I unswaddle.... at some point I have to turn the light on (some poop related disaster usually befalls us), baby girl gets grumpy (usually wind related) and then before I know it we are having a meltdown as I fight to get the swaddle back on. Its not unusual for her to have a big nappy explosion once we are re-swaddled as well. I HATE night feeds.

We use Halo sacks or Swaddle Me sacks (because I'm terrible at swaddling) and I open them to let his arms free while he eats.

When DS was an infant, I would unswaddle him to change his diaper. Then, I would reswaddle him and feed him.

Interesting! I do NOT unswaddle! C eats better when swaddled and reswaddling would just wake him up more.

We are swaddling arms out now, but back when we full swaddled I always kept her swaddled to feed because her arms distracted her!!! In the newborn days we'd check her diaper but these days (16 weeks) she never poops in the night.

We usually unswaddle in between boobs to check her diaper, and now that she's sttn, we just leave her out since she doesn't go back down. When she was waking up frequently, we swaddled her back up.
