I'm looking to get one for our 8month old. When she was in her infant seat we just placed that on top of the cart, we also sometimes wear her in a baby carrier, or use the stroller but I think sometimes its more convenient to just placeher directly in the cart. Which cover do you have? Would you recommend it and how many do you own?

We have one and it's a two piece deal. I like it because it has a nice big velcro belly wrap to keep her in place, but it's a pain in the butt to use. I'd like to get one of the ones that is stretchy like a shower cap that she can just sit in.

We're at the same point and I've been looking for one that has 360 coverage and works for a restaurant high chair. I really like the infantino cloud but I can't find it under $25 and that's more than I want to pay! Finally caught a good auction on eBay and just bought a brand new padded Infantino last night for $15 s+h included!

Nope, never used one. I either wear by son or wipe the cart down with a sanitizing wipe and plop him in.

My LO has been sitting pretty well unassisted for the past month so we started using ours in the past week a few times. I like how it's really well cushioned around him and it's nice with all the links to attach toys to. It was a pain to set up the first time but now we find it pretty easy to use. We do. I don't know the brand, but it's huge and covers the entire cart seat area. I like it because it catches LOs toys when she drops them, it has rings to attach toys, little pockets, and she is a little more supported in it.

I've considered using one but I figure she is getting more germs from daycare every day than she would from that shopping cart, especially if I wipe it down.

We got one as an early shower gift. I plan on using it. All those germs scare me. I wipe down the shopping cart now and I am just pushing it.

I have enough to juggle between the baby, diaper bag, reusable bags, groceries for us and groceries for my grandma tha there's no way I'm juggling a huge piece of baby gear like that. I wipe it down with a wipe and plop her in and away we go. Exposure to germs is good for her anyway. If she's really tempted to chew on the bar (she rarely does this) I will drap my coat over it and wash that when I get home. Then, I wipe daughter down with a baby wipe and wash my hands.

We've never used a cover. I will wipe down the cart or chair if there are wipes/sanitizer nearby but if there isn't then I just keep him from licking it and hope for the best!

I just started using one for DS (7 mos). Not so concerned about the germ-factor, but more the extra support it gives him now. He's so little in that big cart seat and kind of tips over still. The rings to attach toys to is nice, too! I think mine is an Eddie Bauer brand from buy buy baby.

i do esp after one of the bees posted that their lo was infected with salmonella. my friend handed down a boppy one that doubled as a high chair cover.

A month later we still use ours. I'm not worried about germs, but she climbs out of the cart if we don't use the cover... Even if she's buckled in.

I have a Buggy Bagg (different pattern). I bought it a few years ago, and I can't believe how expensive it is? It is very unlikely I bought it for this price, but it is excellent and can be folded out and put in place with one hand (while you are holding baby in other arm).

Yep, and I love it! I looked for one that covered all carts including costco and Target and the reviews for the Buggy Bagg were great. We ordered from Amazon and their customer service is top notch. The only problem I had was when i washed it for the first time the brown bled onto the lighter colors, buggy bagg replaced it with no questions!

Nope! I wipe it down (sometimes). And then I lay the flannel receiving blanket I keep in my diaper bag down in the seat and kind of over the front handles where their fingers go most. I'm in the camp that reasonable exposure is good.

My sister is going to make one for us. Didn't someone's baby get sick on from the shopping cart? Does anyone else remember that?

My lo is the one who got salmonella. We don't know if it's for sure from the grocery store, but they said its common and to use a cover. People put raw meat in their cart and then we put our los in the cart right after them. Yuck. I used to think I didn't want to worry about germs, kids need germs, etc. And I still don't use a cart cover in stores like Michaels that don't have food. But germs and salmonella are two different things.
Please use a cover people!

We use one! We used it for DD and now I use it for DS. It fits most shopping carts (not the ones at Target though) and on highchairs at restaurants.

@artbee: I've always worried about the raw meat and the people who dump their nasty pop/beer cans/bottles into the carts rather than using a garbage bag. Yuck yuck yuck.
I wish they had a car wash for carts, that would solve some of the issues.

We have the skiphop one. I don't think skiphop sells it anymore but you can find it at toysrus and on amazon. I like how it folds into itself into a small sack.

We do. My mom and I made it. It is reversible and folds into an attached pouch. The buckle becomes a handle. I love it because I know it is clean or at least LO's own mess. It's pretty big and fits the large Costco carts and the plastic Target ones.
