So I don't have a bottle of hand sanitizer at my changing station area (yet), so obviously I'm suppose to wash my hands after I change LO's diapers, but I admit sometimes I go without washing my hands as I'm too busy trying to make sure he doesn't cry/stops crying afterwards. I figure as long as my hands don't directly touch the diaper/butt contents, I'm somewhat okay, but I realize I need to be more sanitary! Which do you use, and are you consistent? If you get to wash your hands afterward, I'm gonna assume your LO is okay being put down for a little bit (mine is not), or you have major baby-juggling skillz!! =P

I use hand sanitizer for pee and wash my hands for poop.

I keep a big bottle of hand sanitizer next to the changing station. Once I'm done with the diaper, I wipe off DS's and my hands with wipe, and then I sanitize my hands. I think I'm too lazy to wash after every changing, lol!

When I was babysitting my nephew, one day he was crazy cranky and I couldn't put him down for ages. Once he finally fell asleep, I quickly made lunch and started eating, with my hands, before he woke up since I was starving. Half way through my sandwich I remembered I hadn't washed my hands since his diaper. Whoops.

I use hand sanitizer unless pee or poo actually touches my hands then I wash. But I feel like I wash my hands 15 times a day anyway with having a baby around.

I try to wash my hands immediately after changing the diaper but if I absolutely can't, I'll wipe my hands with a wipe and then use sanitizer.

I try to! But sometimes I get sidetracked on the way to the sink. I do have sanitizer nearby but I hate that stuff.

I usually use hand sanitizer. If I change a poop diaper and it gets on me, I definitely go scrub my hands.

For poop--I use the sanitizer or a wipe (I actually prefer a wipe) before I pick LO up, and then I walk with him over to the sink and wash my hands and sort of wash his (it's kind of awkward, but his hands mostly just get the soapy water I throw towards him).
For pee--one or the other (or a wipe) but not both (well, not all 3). -
I wash for poop. That's all. Seriously, pee is sterile, unless you got it on you and are worried about the smell, what's going to happen?

I always wash my hands no matter what. The bathroom is close to his room in our house so it doesn't take long. I have lots of songs about washing poopies off my hands (not that I have anything on them) and how mommies have to pee too - cause you may as well make a pit stop while you're in there!

I change his diaper - although he doesn't cry thru diaper changes - and put him in his crib while I wash my hands. He is usually fine for a few minutes on his own. I don't know how old your little one was, but my son is 6 months old and doesn't cry being set in his crib. But he did when he was really young. Your baby will get used to it! You always come back

I only wash for poop, unless I get some pee on me.

I usually wash my hands, if not i use a wipe. But I don't do it all the time though... only when she poops or I've touched pee of some sort.

I always wash after changing a poopy diaper. I rarely worry about it with wet diapers. Usually I'm in the middle of the living room or the other end of the house and do a quick out of one diaper and into the new.
I almost always take him to his room for poopy diapers. Afterwards I'll set him down and wash up.

I sometimes use sanitizer when it's poop and the door to the laundry room is closed b/c I don't want to dirty the handle. I put our diaper pail in there. Then I wash my hands. But I pretty much wash my hands after every change. I'll just keep thinking my hands are dirty if I don't wash them. You can probably say I'm a teensy bit OCD.

For pee diapers, I use hand sanitizer (right on changing table) IF I think of it...sometimes I forget. For poopies I wash my hands.

I wash after every diaper change. Sometimes my daughter is fine hanging out while I wash and sometimes she's not, but it goes fast so she always gets over it! The down side to washing is my hands get SO dry!

Wash, I strap her in or if she's being extremely fussy I hold her on one side then wash one side at a time.

Yes, I wash my hands after I change any diaper. I think I got in the habit after having DS in the NICU. Washing hands was a huge deal in the NICU.

I usually clean up with a wipe unless I've had to put cream on her bum, then I wash up.

if its s poopy diaper that I had to spray off using the diaper sprayer I wash my hands, otherwise I use hand sanitizer
