Words like "totes", "amaze-balls" etc. I hear them all the time and think of teenagers so I'm surprised when I heard adults use them!! I try not to but it's crazy how when you hear the same phrase/word over and over you use it without thinking.
What (if any) trendy language do you use?

My BIL and I like to use "SMH..." a lot because it annoys my husband 
Other than that, I don't really use trendy language. I'm lame and don't know what it means half the time! I just figured out what YOLO was about 2 weeks ago..

No. I laughed when I saw your thread because I just started to type "sexting" in another post but changed it because it's not like me to use such words.

@kentuckygirl: lol!! I guess I have used the word sexting only because there is no other word for that. I suppose as technology grows, our vocabulary does as well.

I have no idea what YOLO or SMH means! I dont generally use trendy language but I do say " Legen... Wait for it... Dary!"

I love the word Amazeballs because Guiliana Rancic used it and I 
her, but I have never actually used the word before!

I don't think I talk that trendy. Sometimes I say trendy phrases because they make me laugh, like b-t-dubs, or whatev's, for reals (which is an old one but my sister and I still say it all the time), but I'm never serious.

I don't really use "trendy" language because for the most part, i find that it's usually used by high schoolers. I don't really want to be THAT person. But @prettylizy, i do use "epic fail" once in a while.

i use totes mcgotes from i love you, man. and other random words that i feel like i just made up from other words. i just can't get behind YOLO though.

I just looked up YOLO. I'm sad like that! I've heard amazeballs used a few years ago, but I've never actually said it. My friends use "trendy" words from our childhood - not often, but when we're talking to each other and get all excited, but then I doubt it's actually trendy anymore! We're old!

No, I find that kind of language obnoxious. It really bugs me when I read it on blogs too (stuff like amazeballs, awesomesauce, etc.). But, like @birdofafeather, my husband and I say Totes McGotes because Paul Rudd says it in I Love You Man and he's just the cutest. Plus he's using it kind of ironically.

I'm going to sound super lame for typing this but, when I read "totes" I thought right away, ohhh tote bags! Yea I say totes a lot! But then.....I'm like waiittt....I think it's supposed to mean "totally"

I jumped on the FML bandwagon momentarily, I thought it was funny. Then DH asked what it meant and when I told him, he was so nerdy about it- "Why would you say that? Oh yeah, your life is SOOOO bad!!!!" So literal!!!!!

Nope, and I can't stand all the freakin acronyms now days. It's like we flipping forgot how to to talk in words. It gives me a headache trying to decipher what someone is talking about.

I like to use abbrievs...ya know, like totes, whatevs, ridic (which I find hilarious b/c I'm 12 yrs old inside). I only do it around certain people, though.

I use lol and omg in texts, but nothing else and definitely not in spoken speech. I've tried and it makes me feel ridiculous. I'm 32!
