We wanted two, after we had Charlie we still wanted 2, and after Olive we know we are done!
If Charlie had been a really hard baby, I think we would have child spaced more, but eventually had two.
Did having one change the number of kids you wanted?

After G I didn't want anymore.... then I compromised b/c DH didn't have any bio kids. Directly after having P my "maybe open to 1 more" became an "I'm done", but has since changed to wanting 2+ more!
I'm obviously all over the place on how many munchkins I want. Who knows if I'll ever make up my mind. lol

More. When we got pregnant we were both pretty sure we only wanted one. DH is now almost positive he only wants one, I'm now almost positive I want a second.

A is so amazing, I want more! But OMG pregnancy kicked my butt. So I'm kind of stuck in my answer..... if I could have guaranteed no nausea and a c-section, I'd have loads.

I want to adopt a bunch of children... I would be fine not having any more biological children. Birth was not kind ot me and I would rather NOT do that again.

I love my LO, but i just want to stop at her! We're only going for #2 because we want her to have a sibling.

We wanted at least 2 kids and still want at least 2 (read: 2 but if we had more the world wouldn't end).
DS was a VERY difficult baby and now difficult toddler and my DH is always saying he needs a break between (not sure why HE needs the break?!? lol). His ideal spacing was 3 years before DS and that could still be possible but DH doesn't seem thrilled with the idea of another baby anytime soon. I would rather have one sooner since everything we dealt with is fresh in our(my) mind and we already have a great team of doctors. Just makes sense to me. Time will tell though!

Yes, I've totally changed my numbers. When I was young and dumb and indoctrinated, I wanted at least 12 kids. Then we had one and the number went down to 5+. Then we had two and I had PPD and it was a really hard adjustment, a really dark time and I said, "NEVER AGAIN! We're DONE! I can't do this again! I will kill myself!" And now, 2 years later, I'm feeling and doing so much better (and not just because having a 2- and 4-year-old are infinitely easier than having a newborn and a 2-year-old either) and I'm planning at least one more, we'll see about more. And I'm looking into placenta encapsulation and maybe that will make all the difference and we'll end up having 12 kids anyways, lol. Or not.

Less. I originally thought (barring money/ttc problems) we'd have two then wait awhile then have two more, or we'd have three evenly spaced. Now I'm going to have one more (unless I end up w/ twins, omg) and that's it!

i knew 2 kids was a good number to have. then i had DD, and i thought, oh boy this is hard, i'm SO done and happy with one. but DH wanted another one a year later, and eventually convinced me to have 1 more, and really, i just thought that if DD had a sibling, that would be nice. DH and I both have siblings that we absolutely love and we lean on other a lot, and it's just nice to have that. now that we have the 2, I am officially done...and happy.

Less. I was on the one and done side, stayed there for ten years! DS was a very difficult baby, toddler, child, and now pre-teen, it hasn't gotten any better! He actually use to say he hated babies, so I was scared. He is hands down the best big brother ever
Dh has two girls from his previous marriage, I thought that was a good mixture then dh sprung the I want a baby card on me, now we will have two babies, bringing us to five kiddos...

We never really had at set number. DH teased we'd keep going til we had a boy to carry on the family name. Our first is a boy and I'd be content to stop at one. DH is much more "we'll see how it goes" about family planning. I'm not committed to one and done, especially since LO isn't even here yet!

Less. We wanted 2 but there's a good chance we might stop with one because DD has been such a challenging baby.
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
Originally I was very open to 3. After having DD (a not-easy baby, but so great now that she's a toddler), I reduced the number to 2... but now after having DS (an easy baby), I can't imagine him being my last newborn, so I'm much more open to having 3 again!
I just don't want to go through pregnancy anymore!! So we may still stick to 2. We'll see how things go in the next couple years before making any final decisions.

I want 2... but DD is such a horrible sleeper- what if #2 was the same? Still, I think when she is a year old we will start TTC a second baby- she loves other kids and I think would really benefit from having a sibiling. DH has an adult son from a previous marriage, so I always thought he'd be done after we had one, but lately he's been talking about baby #2.

Originally I wanted 2, as did DH. But now I'm considering 1 (though DH still wants 2) because I just don't know if I could go through pregnancy all over again and LO hasn't been the easiest baby. This makes me feel like a bad parent because I have mommy friends who were only planning on having 1 but now that they have their LO's, they want another. And I'm the opposite!

Less. I wanted at least two with the option of a third. But I really hated pregnancy. The baby blues kicked my ass. And I just want to focus all my love on my daughter. But hubs wants another and I want LO to have a sibling so we'll likely have one more.

I wanted lots more after having ds. After being pregnant with dd, I'm done.

Less or the same. Before LO I wanted 4+, but now I think I want 4 max. I would like to adopt 1-2 children.

The same. We've never had a set number but I really want to give DS a sibling someday. I didn't mind pregnancy too much (other than the horrible itching at the end), but the prospect of more back labor and another c section is pretty terrifying.
squash / 13764 posts
The same...I still want 3! I think I've realized that the baby stage will be hard with having multiple kids, but it will be easier (in a sense) once they're older and can interact with each other. I'm looking forward to that! It also helps that I had a great pregnancy and labor/recovery.
grapefruit / 4823 posts
i've always wanted 3, still do. DH on the other hand wants only 2. if LO #2 is a girl, we will be done because we'll have our boy and girl. if it's another boy....we'll be discussing things
pomelo / 5178 posts
We were still set on having three after DD was born; after DS was born, I'm pretty sure we're done at 2. It's not that DS is a hard baby (he's really easy) but we just feel a lot more complete with two than we thought we would. Neither of us have baby fever, and both of us feel like our family is pretty perfect with only 2 kids. I'm sad to be probably done with babies, but I do love our family the way it is now.

I wanted three, then this pregnancy completely kicked my tail. Migraines, insulin resistance issues, pelvis/hip joints that dislocate at will, physical therapy 4 times a week, nausea non-stop... No thank you! We will stop at 2, and I will need to be hardcore convinced to get pregnant with the second. lol.
pomegranate / 3917 posts
I wanted 3 before her, week after we had her DH and I agreed to 2 close together, and since we bought the new house DH is at 3, and I don't know. All I do know is C would have to be in kindergarten (or me on mat leave again) before a 3rd could be born, it would be insane to have 3 in daycare. Don't even want to think about it ready, I am already baby crazy for #2 and we'll see where my heads at after that.
eggplant / 11824 posts
The same or less. My husband has always only wanted 1 while for a while I thought 2 might be nice, with several years in between. Pregnancy wasn’t fun at all, the newborn stage was so difficult, PPD was miserable and I just want to focus entirely on my daughter now. I actually had a dream the other night that I realized I was pregnant (like 30 weeks along, lol) and could feel the baby kicking and when I woke up I had an anxiety attack and felt sick to my stomach for the rest of the day.
so yeah, I think we’re good with 1.

I still want two. Pregnanacy was great and motherhood while challenging has been pretty smooth so far.
pear / 1769 posts
I wanted 3-4, now I think we will most likely stick to 2. I want to have my body back, and am willing to give it up one (maybe 2) more times. I also really want to be able to afford to give my children tons of experiences that we might not be able to swing financially if we had more.
persimmon / 1081 posts
I wanted 2, but now that I have one I wish I could keep having babies for the rest of my life! We'll probably stop at 3, though.

We want two. When DS hit about 14 to 20 months we were sure we were done because we couldn't handle his toddler-isms... but we still want two even through the hair-pulling moments.
clementine / 828 posts
I have always wanted 2 but I had a tough pregnancy so, right after LO was born, I considered stopping at 1. Now that LO is 11 months, I feel like I want another one in a couple of years
