Heck no! It's the most stressful job ever!

No way! Too much bs. My grandfather was a State Senator for 30 plus years and it was terribly difficult on the family. My husband's grandfather was a U.S. Senator and that was even worse! Being in politics can be exciting but is not for everyone.

I even dated a guy who was very clear about wanting to go into politics and liked that my family had politics in it and I broke up with him because it was not a path I wanted to take...

I'm with @tana_bk - if that's what they end up wanting, I will be supportive. But really, I just want my kids to grow up with good values & morals, treat people right, make an honest living, & be satisfied with who they are

If they want to then yes. But I'm pretty sure my lo won't want to.I just want her to be able to do whatever she wants to do.

@mrbee: I don't know, maybe in 34 more years, we'll be more open to different ethnicities.

I honestly don't care. I'm certainly not going to try to guide my children in the direction to be President, but if they want to be, that's their decision. I'll have to hope that I've raised them well enough that they would do a good job, if that ends up being the case.

Definitely not. I think the sentiment is that you want your kids to feel like they can do whatever they want, and you want to help make whatever they want possible. But I'd much rather that "whatever" be something other than the leader of the free world, thanks.

If that's what my child wants to be, I'll support it!
