Do you have the world's cutest kids who do ridiculously adorable things 24/7?
I definitely wear mom blinders but I think my RX isn't as strong as it was when I only had one LO to adore!

I think they are adorable to me as their mom because I know everything about them, so each new thing is amazing. But I know it's not that cute/interesting to other people!

@Mrs. Bee: same! I know the only people who think my LO is the most amazing child in the world are me, my husband, and our parents

Uh no. They are not cute 24/7. Especially when one of them needs to go poop at 3 am. And then there is no poop!

@autumnlove: LOL - I love the way you said that. I think DD is pretty funny and cute, but she's definitely not the cutest all the time... especially not w/ the new attitude she's taken on

I do! Hahaha. I think my lo is the cutest, smartest, most amazing baby ever

I always thought my DS was the most handsome little boy EVER!!!!!
He is 5 now and I was going thru his 1st bday baby book and eh.... he wasn't THAT cute!

My blinders go into action after they go to bed at night!! haha!! Usually after a rough day, we look at pictures and videos of them and it's BLINDERS CENTRAL.

It's not blinders. I really do have the cutest baby!
OK, maybe I'm biased. I go back and forth because I do feel like she is the cutest, most fascinating creature to ever have been born, yet I realize the fact that she can reach for something without toppling over isn't that big of a deal to most people. So I try to only talk about her amazingness to people who will agree, like my sister or parents.
@mrs. wagon: OMG the videos. DH and I can watch the same videos of her first tastes of food over and over again and laugh at the same exact parts every time. Because like I said, she is cute and amazing.

I definitely have some mom blinders but they're not super strong...I am fully aware of cuter/smarter kids out there and have met several...but I do think my girl is super cute/smart/funny

I definitely get blinders about my LO. He's so cute and sweet. Though he's not when he's throwing a major tantrum or has the worst, icky poopy diapers ever. My DH thinks I have amnesia about pregnancy and newborn-hood.

@cascademom: I think most people have amnesia about newborn-hood. Otherwise there would be an entire world of only children.

I think I'm realistic, I think my DD is amazing and adorable for sure, but THE cutest in the world...probably not. Girlfriend has an attitude right now, but I still think she's cute, even if she's being naughty (but it goes away when she whines!.)

@Foodnerd81: I seriously think it's the only reason why I'm considering another pregnancy in the near future. What's funny is that there's a few people pregnant on FB as first timers. I cringe and roll my eyes at what they tweet or Pin. I realized how annoying I was a pregnant woman. For the next one, no tweeting, etc.

We already have this problem with our dog. I can't imagine how adorable and perfect we're going to find our kids!
nectarine / 2177 posts
Absolutely. And it doesn't help that our friends are obsessed with him too, so we have back up support in our blinders!

Most definitely! We wonder if we will think this upcoming bambino is as amazing as R. I hope we do!

I figure I deserve those blinders, I worked hard for them!
I must say though, he was a totally awkward kid at first, he's much much cuter as a toddler

I think I'm pretty realistic. I love her and think she is wonderful, but that's enough...like she doesn't have to be the best or the cutest, just herself. I will say that I framed a pic of her as a baby, and lately I've been looking at it wondering why I framed that one because she looks like an alien.
I'm pretty realistic about milestones, too. Maybe to a fault, like I dismiss things she is doing by saying its a coincidence. But, in my defense, overestimating milestones is a huge pet peeve of mine (no, your baby did not say mama at 2 months old, and no, your 3 month old who can even hold an object did not intentionally turn the page).

@Silva: Haha, I literally laughed out loud at the alien comment!
I sure do think she's the cutest, smartest, funniest baby ever to me, but I contain my comments to others (outside of DH and her grandparents) because I'm fully aware she's not all that to everyone else

I try to be realistic, but it can be hard! LO loves to flirt with everyone she sees and can be a bit of an actress, so she sometimes gets a lot of attention while we are out shopping or at dinner, which increases the RX on our parent blinders. She is our first, though, so every new thing she does is amazing
