I have never taken the day off for my birthday, but I know plenty of others that do!

Nope, never. But it's July 5th (Friday!) and being around the holiday a lot of people take it off so it works well.

Depends. DH's and my birthdays are two days apart, so usually we will take a day off for our birthdays, but it might not be my actual birthday, or his actual birthday. But, in general, I like to take the day off. No one wants to be annoyed by work stuff on their bday!

Yep! It is the beginning of the month, so I can't take off.

I usually take the day off (I only work 3 random days a week so it's no big deal to request it off) but the schedule came out veryyy early this year and I didn't get a chance to take it off. Which is okay because it's in the middle of the week anyways.

Yep, I work. We usually bring something in to share, but besides that it was a regular work day.
It was nice, though, because the past three years I was out of town for work on my birthday.

I have done both, one particularly horrible year, my birthday was on a weekend and I had to go into the office.

We almost always take a half day on each other's birthdays.

Yes, unless I'm on vacation. My birthday isn't a big deal to me!

Yes, unless I go away somewhere. I've never taken the day off just to stay home though.

@NeekieRose & T.H.O.U. Happy early birthday!
Unless I already have a vacation planned, I always work it. Working on my bday has never been a biggy for me.

I'm a SAHM so I can't take a day off. I wouldn't anyway, birthdays aren't too important to me anymore.

I used to. Now I'm a SAHM sooo no? My birthday is next week so I do plan to go to the mall and lunch with LO and hopefully dinner with DH when he is off work.

Yep, I always work. This year I actually started a new job 3 days before my bday, so there was no way!

usually yea, but this year it's on a wknd, and we're taking our family the week after

Sometimes.
Usually no, but similar to @Foodnerd81, DH and I are 4 days apart. So this year we are headed out of town for the weekend and his birthday falls on a Thursday so we elected to take thurs/friday off, but then my birthday is the following Monday and we will be back at work.

If at all possible, I always take my birthday off. I have a new job so I'm not sure if I will this year. a great tradition may come to an end, sad.

Yep, unless it's on a weekend. I was late to my own birthday dinner this year bc I was working late!

sometimes but this year my birthday was on a Friday, so I took it off
I used to work for a company that gave you your birthday off. Everyone thought it was so nice but we hardly got any holidays off and it was a cheaper way of giving employees a day off and not all at once, lol

Depends. I have taken it off in the past, but I have worked through it also. Guess it depends on what day my birthday lands on or what the plans for my birthday are.
I generally don't celebrate my birthday so it's never a big deal to work through it.
