We have a little girl, but sometimes I worry when we have baby #2 someday we will have another girl (which I would love), but if we don't have anymore after that, and I never get a little boy, I think I would be bummed. Of course I would be thankful for healthy babies, but I would never know what it's like to have a boy and the family name would end with DH. This is obviously "what if" thinking because we are not done having kids yet!

No. We have two boys and I would LOVE to have another (stopping at 3 kids)! I would be so excited to have a girl too if we did, but definitely not upset if we didn't.

I know a few families that only have boys, like 3 boys each and counting. It makes me nervous about only having 1 gender because I'd like a boy at some point. DH is the last male in his line, so if we don't have a boy, the family name dies.

No. I'd like a son, but I'd be fine with all daughters. Besides, we plan to adopt in the future, so I could always adopt a boy if we don't have one.

I have 3 girls and we are 99% we are done. It does make me sad I will never have a son- little suits with bow ties break my heart-I will never get to buy one:(

I'm there (with the one gender) and I thought it might bother me and it totally doesn't. And Eric's family name will "end" with him EXCEPT we are teaching our girls to fall in love with progressive guys who will change their names to their wife's. We aren't planning to have any more, and while I know I would have enjoyed having a son, I think having more children just to get a desired gender is risky at best. The best reason is because you just want another child in general. I always think of my great-grandmother who had 11 boys. She never did have a girl.

We have a boy and just found out yesterday we are expecting another boy! Won't lie we would love love love to have a girl (or two!). We love boys too so we are super excited for boy #2, but we are planning to have 4 kids, so we'll see what happens!

I do. Initially I said I would have been fine with all girls and then we had a boy... I was disappointed at first but once I met him I was in love and can't imagine not having him anymore.
But I still hope that I have a girl! My biggest fear was that I would have all boys. I love boys yeah, but I don't want three boys
I know that sounds awful. And I also know if I did have three boys I would love them all dearly, but I think I would always wish deep down that I have a girl as well.

I really want a boy next round so we can be done, but if I get two girls (or 3) I would be happy as long as everyone is healthy!

I am. We're having a little boy. We already have 2 little boys. I worry that this will be my only baby and I'll never get a little girl. I'm so grateful for what I have but I just am sad at the prospect of never getting to do pigtails or barbies or nail polish or whatever else.

Yes! We have a girl and in my husband's generation there has not been a single boy yet! And we're pretty much the last to have kids. So yea I'm hoping for a boy next.

No, not really. While I'd love to experience both, I also would love to see a same sex sibling relationship between them, since I am SO close to my sisters and DH is so close to his brothers. So I guess, for me, I'd rather have one of each, but for the kids, I'd rather them be same sex. Team green on #1 so we'll see.

I'm worried about having two boys. I have a few more weeks yet until we can find out what LO is, and while I would be very happy to have a boy this time around, I would definitely worry about the next one. I used to really want 2 girls, but then I came around to having a little boy. But I just don't think I can deal with with the chaos that comes with having 2 boys. And I'd be sad to never have a little girl.

@marionberry be careful what you wish for! my uncle wanted a boy and ended up with 7 girls before he gave up trying! When the last one was born he said "thank goodness! at this point I wouldn't know what to do with a boy!"

I am so thrilled with two boys, and I actually was very worried about having girls (my own mother issues coming into play). Surprisingly, I think DH is a little sad about not having any girls. He's made comments about never getting to do a daddy-daughter dance, or chasing boys off the property. I don't think he even expected to feel that way because he is so happy with two boys.
Plus, DH and I both only had siblings of the opposite gender, so we think it's cool that our boys will have a built-in best friend/brother. I guess that's helped by the fact that they're twins too, though.

No worry here. We'd both love to have a girl but I'd be ecstatic for a third boy. After having two boys, I cannot imagine having a daughter. I'd feel like a FTM all over again. Life can be pretty chaotic and rowdy with only boys (add my husband to the mix) but there's never a dull moment.

Kind of, yes...only cause now I have soo much girl stuff that's going to be unused if we have another boy.
But besides that, I'd be totally ok if I end up with only boys...at this point my only real concern is a healthy child.

Ask me after my son is born lol! I really wanted a boy, so I feel like I'd be disappointed if we had all girls, but since we are having a boy now I don't know if I'll be disappointed if we dont' ever have a girl. I think a family full of boys would be a lot of fun, but DH really really wants a girl so he can spoil her!

While I would absolutely LOVE a girl, I don't really think I'd be disappointed because our family is used to boys. Evan is the 10th boy in a row....there hasn't been a girl born into the McK family in over 75 years. I love watching the relationships between all of the siblings and how much fun the brothers have together (and all of the cousins).

I'd love a girl for our second LO. I wouldn't mind another boy as well.

I have one of each but when I was pregnant with my DD, I really didn't care which gender she was. I already had a boy and would've been just as happy if she ended up being a boy. I still sometimes think that my son would've loved having a brother more than a sister. He's such a boy's boy!

I sort of am convinced I'm going to have all boys. Of course, any child is a blessing, but I would love a daughter one day...so, hopefully!
