I hate writing checks and having to wait around for someone to cash them. Drives me crazy!
I almost never write them these days, but I wound up writing three this weekend....thankfully 2/3 have already cashed them! One more to go...

Lately, only for wedding gifts! I can never find my checkbook. We use credit cards for almost everything.

never! I've had the same checkbook since 2005, haha.. I'm running low but hate to reorder because I never ever write checks anymore.

Two yrs later my maiden name is still on our checks, because we only write them for daycare now!

nope... only for house services (sprinkler shut down, carpet cleaning, etc.) and weddings!

Only for my mortgage. Everything else gets paid online. I don't know why I still send a check for the mortgage LOL

I pretty much only use them for rent. My checks have my maiden name (from 2 yrs ago) and my parents address (from...7 years ago? ha)

We write one or two a month. It's really annoying. My husband and I have a joint account, but the checks have only his name on them because he had tons of them when we got married. So I have to wait on him to sign them. Luckily we're on the last book and will be ordering more soon.

I feel like I probably only write 1 or 2 cheques (yes, that's how we spell it in Canada!) a YEAR. I've had the same cheque book for at least 4 years, as the cheques still have our old address on them!

Only for rent, wedding gifts, and our cleaning lady. The rent checks still have my maiden name and old address on it (from 2 and 3 years ago). Our landlord is really slow to cash checks, too, so it's very annoying. Our joint account checks go to the cleaning people and wedding gifts and actually have our current names and address, but we are still on the first free book they give you when you sign up.

Pretty much only when I owe someone for a gift we split or for something else like that.

I ordered new checks when I got married so I picked out some fun ones for the first time...but that will be the last time I order them for years, I bet since I use them so infrequently!

I only write them for random house services, one-time payments like our daycare deposit, and then our lawn guy and our pest service. DH, though, still writes them for all his bills and it drives me nuts. I pointed out how easy it is to do it online through our bank, and even offered to pay all the bills, but he doesn't like paying any way other than a check and said paying his bills makes him feel like a man, lol. I also hate waiting for them to get cashed!
ETA oh yeah and wedding gifts.

Not really. I pay most things online. I only write checks for wedding gifts and also for paying stuff at church

Maybe a couple times a mont for rent, cleaning services and the random bill that's not on autopay

I write them the lawn mowing service we use and for any major home repairs (e.g. new roof) since I want an audit trail of me paying for it.

Not very often but I found myself writing them more often for pregnancy related bills. I only write checks for parking tickets now

Rarely! Only for wedding gifts and the rare bill I can't pay online. Oh, and we have started writing them for daycare now, so I guess that's one/month at least!

I can't remember the last check I wrote. I don't even know where our checkbook is. DH deals with our checks.

I will occasionally use them for services like my photographer for LO, or when I see our ND since she doesn't have debit. I always keep my checkbook in my wallet.

Nope, I cant remember the last time I wrote a check. Even if I have to, I do it through my bank so it's withdrawn right away, and I dont even have to bother with envelope and stamp.

I use checks very rarely. I used to write them for rent only, but the complex we're at now lets you pay with cards.
I admit to being totally annoyed and frustrated when I'm stuck behind someone at the grocery store who's writing a check!

I only write checks for rent. Everything gets paid online. I wish we could pay rent online, too!

Never- I hate writing them! Thank goodness for online bill pay!!
I even stopped writing them for weddings and started putting cash or a gift card in there-i hated waiting forever for people to cash them- and since i dont keep a check register I always forget when i write one and its a fun surprise when they get cashed!
