We've been able to train our oldest not to do this any more... thank goodness. We still keep an eye out though! Not something I ever anticipated would be a part of parenting... just so, so gross.

lol! my LO isn't old enough yet, but she only recently stopped trying to eat everything off the floor. now she picks everything up and hands it to me. unless it's a piece of food. ugh.

R is too young but I still have 4th and 5th graders try to peel gum off of the bottom of my library tables when they find it. Ew, just let me take care of it, please!

Mine tried to eat a cherry tomato off the floor of the grocery store floor just this evening! So gross.

@JennyD: Well my personal benchmark is pretty low... as in, is it worse than having your child pick used gum off of the floor and start chewing it without you noticing for a few minutes?

@mrbee: buhahaha! Ok that's kinda bad. But I have only one, and only recently has she been freed from the cart and allowed to roam at all. So I'm still on her constantly.
