I have a tattoo I got right when I turned 18. I didn't hide it all all, and my family was dissappointed. Now, I hate the ugly thing and totally sympathize with my poor parents! I think the legal age limit should be raised to 25. Maybe that's just because I have a dang ohm symbol in plain sight. Hehe

I got my tattoo when I was 21 and did not tell my parents. I know my dad wouldn't care but was afraid my mom would talk me out of it. About a year or so after I got my tattoo, she noticed that got one. I guess it wasn't a big deal for her.

I showed them after I got my first one. They liked it. I had my dad spell check my last one before I had it done (if only he'd also spell checked the artist as he did it... Lol). I think my mom would rather it be somewhere less visible, but she would never say that to me. She very much respects my choices for my body.

Yep, they know about them! The first one, which I got at 19, I tried to hide but my mom had access to my bank account and DUH there was a chunk of money missing that she wanted to know about

My mom STILL gives me shit about them, and I'm 25 and have three more! She likes to pretend that she 'hasn't seen one' yet and get all shocked and offended. *rollseyes* My grandma took it better than she did lol!!

Yeah, they weren't thrilled that I got one. I only have one and only want the one, though. I'm sure they're thankful it's not in an obvious spot.

I have been thinking about getting a couple of tattoos for a long time. My parents won't care at all (actually, my mum wants to get one too!) but I am quite nervous about my inlaws seeing them, even though their other son is a part-time tattoo artist. Also, my grandfather will hit the roof (he once kicked my dad out for getting his ear pierced).

I have two and my parents don't care at all. My mom has a little half moon on her shoulder that she got done when I was in high school--my dad and I got her a gift certificate for a tattoo parlor for her birthday one year.

My mother in law, however, was very obviously displeased with my second tattoo, which I got about nine months after my husband and I moved in together. She was at our apartment a few days after I got it and she asked me if I had a temporary tattoo...it got very awkward after that. Funnily enough (and I say that sarcastically), she decided tattoos weren't that bad after my husband's little brother who can do no wrong got two big tattoos on his arms. Strange...

My mom hates my tattoos... And my husband does too! It's a huge fight every time I get one. But whatever, I told him early on (way before marriage or engagement!) it's a part of who I am, and he will just have to deal.

Never got one, but I would have told them if I had gotten one~.... my mom, I'm sure is grateful that I never got one. DH has two and his parents know--his dad took him to get his first one for his 17th birthday? (and FIL is SUPER old school, so I was pretty surprised to hear about that!)

I got one when I turned 21 and my mom is super old fashioned and she didn't find out for a good year. Until I leaned over and it peeked out. ooops

I told my parents my first was a temporary tattoo the first few times the saw it, haha

My mom knows about mine. I'm not sure about my dad.

Yepp I have 4 and my mom knows about them all. My dad doesn't know about my newest one, but I will tell him eventually All mine are small/coverable so my mom doesn't mind them at all!

I got mine for my 30th birthday, my dad knows about it, he couldn't care less! DH has one also, and both his parents know. His mom has one, too!
