Ours do not carry over to the next year so people call out sick a lot in November and December!

Nope. Sick & Flex days do not carry over. Our vacation doesn't either (we can carry over 5 days max for vacation). Which seems ridic if you're trying to save for a big holiday. We aren't a busy company so it's not like we have deadlines and would miss someone being gone for 3 - 5 weeks.
Also, one of the bosses NEVER takes vacay and from what I've heard he's got ~ 150 days vacation banked. unfair!

We don't really get sick days. We get paid when we're off sick but we don't have a certain number of sick days to take per year, it's just up to the manager's discretion if someone is taking too many.
Our vacation days carry over, but our flex and summer days do not.

Sort of. We are only allowed to take 10 per year, unless we go on maternity leave - then we can use up any that we have saved, since we don't pay in to state disability as teachers. We can also save them for retirement and get paid extra for them.

Yes, not like it helps right now since I've been using all my days as I accrue them!

Ours carry over - they go into a category called Banked Sick which maxes out at 1040 hours, but you can use it just like you do normal Sick time, so if you run out of Sick for the year, you can just use Banked Sick when you need it.
We're pretty lucky with our time off policies!

No, and it stinks. We can carry over a week of vacation, but those days will not be paid.

We don't' get specific sick days, which I hate. It's on an "honor system" so if you are sick you call in and it's paid, I would much rather they give me a set amount of days to use as I see fit. I always feel guilty calling in sick for me or for LO.

Yes, ours accrue indefinitely and even count toward service time for retirement calculations. I was so glad that I was able to build up a lot of sick time prior to having LO because we don't have any paid maternity leave so I was able to use my sick time to get 6 weeks worth of pay.

Yes, mine carry over. So glad, since my LO seems to get a lot of daycare illnesses.

DH has pto instead of sick. He can carry over 40 hours but the rest is lost if he doesn't use it.

With my last job I didn't get any sick days. I had to use vacation days if I wanted to be paid. DH doesn't have built in sick days, but he does get paid when he is ill (maybe once or twice a year).

I think so, but I wouldn't know because I get so little that it's always gone!
