It's not for me but my SIL wants an aqua dresser for my niece's room (kind of a vintage-y looking aqua but they could add the effect). I've found a few but they're so expensive. Does anyone know of any places that might have something similar for not too much money? They're also willing to get an old dresser and sand/paint it but I figured I'd ask.

Honestly, most place that do colorful, shabby furniture charge crazy amounts for it. It's probably easier to troll thrift stores, flea markets, etc and find an awesome one to refinish yourselves.

I'd imagine it would be a lot cheaper to paint one. Then you can also get the exact shade you want.

We have local antique stores that refurbish furniture. That's where I get the majority of my furniture. The prices usually aren't high at all and you can haggle. Obviously I don't know where to tell you where to look near you though.......

@Mrsbells: She said they looked at Ikea but didn't find anything they were looking for.
I know they've been looking at thrift stores and asking around to see if anyone has a dresser they're trying to get rid of so hopefully they'll find one!
