Sometimes when I point out a rash or weird thing with LO, DH will blow it off and tell me she is fine or that that is just how babies are. I know part of the problem is that DH is colorblind and thus can't see any pinkish/reddish spots on LO unless they are really bad. Have you ever experienced this? What do you do? It drives me crazy!

That's rough! No advice, sorry...my DH usually believes me but tends to think I overreact.

we are the opposite. DH is a huge worrier! I am too, but usually I am researched so I know the next step and I tend to act rather than react. DH just gets super worried and he gets like...sick worried. He'll call me from work like, "did the rash go down?" or "is he still cranky?"

@TurtleDoves: we are the same. DH freaks out over every little thing, but I am always on here and usually know it is fine.

@FutureMrsMcK: Ha, yeah. The colorblind thing I can't get mad about, but since I can see pink I would think he'd believe me!
@TurtleDoves: I try to do my research before getting worried, but I know some of it is my FTM worrying. DH has twin siblings 7 years younger than him, so he feels pretty comfortable with babies and how they act.

I always believe DW when she points out things about LO's health, and I'm lucky because she is both eminently sensible and an avid reader of things like, well, HB and that helps her/us to stay calm about things.
We're both careful not to over-escalate problems: e.g. a bump of the head on the crib bars doesn't need an emergency room visit. I know it's a sliding scale, but we've been getting better and better about putting bumps and scrapes into their proper context. (I hope.)

@MrsScallop: that might be it. Your DH took care of little ones so he probably has seen of things in his time
My DH never did...his siblings are all too close to his age so they grew up together and he didn't really help take care of any of them.

I'm a worrier, but DH also brushes things off most of the time. He'll take a look and usually says that she'll be fine. He is a physician, so it does quell my fears a little.

Yes! DH always does this about everything - it drives me nuts! He needs a lot of facts or symptoms to believe me. He doesn't trust my instincts.

DH always thinks that I'm completely overreacting! It's probably a good thing though.... I do tend to go a bit crazy though lol

Yes! He tells me she is fine and I shouldn't worry. Usually he is right. I over think things and have way too much of an over active imagination.

Yes, in the beginning he was listening to his mom and she was sure that Emme's throwing up was just reflux and she would grow out of it. I knew it was something more, and it took awhile to convince him, but I just went with my gut and kept pushing the issue.
