Over the last few days I've spent more hours than I care to admit in my OB/GYN office (hurray for failing the 1 hour glucose test and then have to do the 3 hour...) and I found it so interesting the amount of Daddies-to-be in the waiting room! It seemed like every pregnant woman had her husband or SO with her. So I wonder, does your DH or SO come with you to your appointments?

Yup. He likes to know what's going on and he also is there to watch DD for me. Otherwise she runs around like a mad woman during the whole appointment lol

Only to the initial appointment and then to appointments when ultrasounds are done. All of the others, I go alone.

He did when I was prego, I think he only missed 1-2 due to work obligations, but he always tried to be there with me. I figured the pregnancy was a joint thing not just a "me" thing so he should be involved as much as he could.

He goes to every single one! I always fear I'll get bad news, so if he's there at least I wouldn't be alone. Plus, I think he likes hearing the heartbeat and asking questions.
ETA: he even went to my 3hr glucose test even though he hated sitting there.

My DH came to almost every appt. He missed my glucose test, and a couple of checkups toward the end.

He came to every single check-up with my first pregnancy, but only comes to the ultrasound appointments with this second pregnancy.
He did come to my two-hour glucose test, though, just so I didn't have to hang out in the hospital alone for two hours.

The first time he tried to come to all that he could, and probably made it to about half. This time he only came to the 20-week ultrasound, because he usually had to watch LO. And honestly, no biggie. Most of the time this time around it was just the same old: weight check, pee in a cup, blood pressure, "Any questions? Nope" and I was out the door.

He only missed the 3-hr glucose test (he had a regular appointment thrown in the middle of it), and only because I insisted he not stay. He dropped me off and picked me up later, bearing food.

Mine doesn't. It's pretty tough for him because I schedule my appointments in the afternoon when I'm done work (I'm a teacher) and that's always when he's on deadline (he's a journalist). So he comes to ultrasounds and I go to the rest on my own.

He did for almost all of our appointments with DS, but with this baby he has only come to more important appointments (first appt, to discuss c-section vs vbac, etc)

Only if they're in the afternoon. My anatomy scan in is the morning, so he's taking off for it. But, usually morning appointments are solo.

he's come to 1 appointment out of 3 so far, plus the NT scan. so, less than half total so far

Only to the ultrasounds so far. We're planning for him to meet my midwife at the 28 week appointment and he'll come with me to the diabetes test just in case I feel faint, but I really don't see the point in him coming to many more than that - most of the midwife appointments are so standard.

he does, but only because we're a one car family, and I technically can't legally drive so therefore I need him to come, just so I can get there!
otherwise he would only come for the ultrasounds

He's come to all but one, when he was out of town. He was bummed that I didn't put it off until he got back (I could have, but wanted to stay on schedule).

He went to all but 3 with my first pregnancy. With the second he came to the first appointment and the 4 ultrasounds and that was it.

He came to all the RE IVF appointments and the appointments since I got pregnant, but I'm still early (10 weeks). From here on out he's going to come if the appointment works with his work schedule, but he's not going to cancel/re-schedule meetings for the appointments. He'll come to the important ones (anatomy scan, appointments with the perinatologist) though.

He comes to a lot, but if it's a regular appointment with no ultrasound, sometimes I have him skip them. I wouldn't have him miss work for a 3 hour test just to sit next to me. At my next appointment I move to weekly ones and I've asked him to come to the rest in case they decide something important (like my induction date).

Only ultrasounds or the first time we heard the hb

He came to a few (first appt, first time we heard the HB, and one other one where we had a class at the hospital afterwards) as well as the two ultrasounds. Other than that I didn't see any reason for him to come and it was hard with his schedule.

DH came to the U/S with me. I felt like all the other appts were a waste of time for him. Especially the 2nd time around!

DH came to one appointment and 2 of 3 u/s. If there had been something going on and I asked him to come he would have, but we both couldn't miss work every time. He was there for the important part, birth!

DH came with me to every appt because he works from home so he has the time.

Toward the beginning, he went to most of them, but then when they got pretty boring, he stopped because it was just in and out. Now that I am past my due date, he has been coming again.

He came to a lot more with #1 but he had a much more flexible schedule then.
He came to the dating and anatomy ultrasound for #2 and then when I've had follow up ultrasounds he's had his phone on him so we can talk if need be but he's been away a lot and most of the appointments are so short and boring that I've been fine with him not going to most things. He was away for my glucose test so I did have to call my mom to come up and help out before because I just crash after it, I can't get myself up for hours, but he couldn't have helped being away and we had learned the lesson already from #1.
He's on paternity leave now so maybe these last couple weeks/days he'll start going again.

He has gone to almost all, I think he missed a few due to work meetings.

He has come to the bigger appointments. Most of the U/S but with all the labs & having to see two Dr.s he has skipped the regular check ups.

He will just be coming to the important ones. He came to the first one with the ultrasound and coming next week for the 20 week ultrasound and I don't know which other ones after that since that's the last ultrasound.

he did in the beginning, but once we reached a certain point and they were happening more frequently and work was picking up I told him he was free. He genuinely enjoyed going, but when it came down to a cervical check and done it just wasn't worth it for him to give up a work day for it (he's self employed). He went again at the end.

He came to most of my appointments with our first because they were in the same city that he worked and he could use his "lunch hour" to come. With my next two, the appointments were in a different town so he only made it to the major ones.

Nope. He doesn't have a flexible work schedule. He came to the NT scan, anatomy scan and like 2 regular appts with LO#1. This time he's only been to the anatomy scan. My mom has been coming to quite a few of them with me though so she can wrangle my toddler during the appt.

No he came to only 1 appointment which was the gender reveal ultrasound. I wanted him to save all of his vacation hours for after baby's arrival. I figured I would need his help more after the baby comes.

No, his work schedule doesn't allow it. He did come to the first one and the 20-week anatomy scan! Those are the most important, I think. Even if he could come I don't think it would be worth it because my appointments only take about 15 minutes, though I do wish he got to hear the heartbeat every week like I do!

He went to all the early ones because with my first pregnancy, we got horrible news at the first ultrasound (missed m/c). I was so glad he was there with me. Now, he goes to most of the ultrasounds (I get them once a month), but not the regular OB appointments.

So far yes! He will continue to go with me to every monthly. He will try to go as they become more frequent but with work he may not be able to. He gets just as excited as I do and looks forward to them! We have another one coming up Tuesday.
I usually take the full day off work and him a half day. We spend the rest of the day together and usually go out for lunch.
