Our poor neighbours have a toddler who is going through a terrible toddler phase, in addition to having a new baby, and it is absolute mayhem for most of the day, most days of the week.

The toddler has always been a screamer, but since the new baby came along, it has gotten so much worse! She seriously screams and cries to the point of choking, for more than half of the day. I can hear the mother, who is lovely, speaking calmly to her and trying to get her to calm down, but this little one is a terror. The baby is quieter, but when she cries, she quickly escalates to a full on meltdown with the gasping for breath between cries. Between the two of them, I'd say at least 2/3s of the day is spent with one child or the other in full on meltdown mode.

I really feel for this poor mum and find myself getting so stressed out on her behalf when the kids are losing it. I know that I would be in floods of tears if I had to deal with the meltdowns she has to deal with, at the frequency with which she deals with them. Maybe I'm just overly sensitive, but it seriously gives me secondhand anxiety for her!

What about you - do you get stressed out when you hear or see other babies having complete meltdowns? Do you eventually learn to just tune it out?
